My personal favorite.

To All, Two of our Recruits are here in town, will be at the Scrimmage on Saturday, Tamarick Pierce RB. That young man is very well put together, and Kyle Olsen-Urbon WR, they will be in town until Sunday. Pierce could be Jessie Chatman, a little taller. Can't wait to see these two and others in Eagles Uniform. Vic Wallace

I remembered watching this game, and got so pissed when our QB fumbled the ball, they recovered the ball. I went to my truck crank it up started scraping the snow off the windows, we got the ball back on our 10, 2minutes 29 seconds on the clock. I taught we had lost the game, until the Offense started moving the ball, I was listening to the game on the radio in my truck, we were doing so good, I did my best to get back into my seat, icy like hell, so when I made it to my seat, Saw Tyler Hart, catching the all, we had just tied the score. We went ahead and scored in the OT, NDSU, we held them, for the Victory. Hell of a Game. Vic Wallace

Another day of some strong hitting, and checking out those Wide Receivers, etc. #14 Jason Willians, WR,#15 Dre'Sante Dorton, #80 Zach Eagle, #81 Stu Stiles, #83 Jalani Phelps, #88 Terence Grady, those young men are coming into their own. Come Saturday you will see some up coming WR. All 5 QBs looked Great. All numbers are correct, with the exception of Dre, whose # is actually 87 on the Roster. Come to the Scrimmage on Saturday @ 2:05 p.m., you will all enjoy the Scrimmage. Here are the Walk-ons position and Schools attended. #15, James Weigel S, North Central High, #17 Justin Vogt,WR, Lewis and Clarke High, #18 Rande Gruemald, Lopez Island, #19 Joey Zamora, Chiwana High, #31 Brandon Lukenbill, LB, #33 Jordan Lurencio RB, Kent, #43 Cameron Ross, CB, WSU, #48 Taylor Duncan, DB, Lewis and Clarke, #51 Michael Perez, LB, Grand View, #63 Darnell Hogan, DL, Cleveland High, Seattle, #86 Roy Ebong, WR, Bronx, NY, #89 Khalil Steward, Fairbanks, Alaska. I think that is 12 Walk Ons, hope this shed some lights as to what is going on. Only concern, when our Recruits come in in June, we will be losing some good Players. All the Walk Ons looks great in practice. Some of our last year LB, are really bringing the blows. See many of you on Saturday. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Hello Vic,
Thanks for keeping us up to date, I appreciate it.
What are you seeing of the new coaches? Can you see an influence in enthusiasm, energy levels or anything influencing the culture?

clawman,
I really appreciate the addition of Coaches Ena, and Taylor. It seems as if the Players love having them, and are really working very hard. I love the way Coach Taylor works with the QBacks. Coach Zach Hill was at the practice yesterday, and he wished he could make the Lobster Feed Saturday Night. Chris and myself will be there at the AD Table, some people just have the "LUCK" :). Hope o see you and the wife there tomorrow. Coach Taylor, put our Quarterbacks through some really great exercises, he gets on the ground with them when they do their thing. You will be Proud to see those young Receivers coming into their own. Eric Meyer was also ther at practice, will be at the Feed that evening, and yes, his Parents still own the house he used to live in, Nick Edwards and his family are now renting it. It seems as if we see some of our Recruits at each Practice, June is not far away, when they all graduates. See you tomorrow. Vic Wallace

clawman,
At the Practice last week, spoke to some of the parents, they were not aware of what is going this weekend after the Scrimmage, saw one of them yesterday, they will be at the Lobster Feed. I sell a hell of a game, don't I? :). It is sad we need to find a better way of getting this kind of information out. Vic Wallace

EWU98 - That still stings. Hell of a way to keep us Bison Fans off your forum. Many of us still have not forgotten That game. We think we got robbed, but overall we were down and mounted a comeback and into OT. What a got wrenching game for both sides.
Well its 6 years later and we finally get to have the REMATCH at our Fargo Dome. Oh my will this be some good payback. The players don't know much from the past but the fans do....
I don't know much about your team this year, other then your stud Wide Out Cooper, we will have to try to shut down or limit his touches. He looks to be a hell of a receiver.
Who else should be be watching....? Dline, Oline, secondary, RB's....?

So tell your Eagle fans that if any can make the trip to Fargo, come enjoy the Tailgaiting as its Very Impressive from what Big 12 teams have told us and Big Ten teams as well.

Even though we have won 5 in a row and will do another this year and make it 6, we are reloaded, no rebuilding necessary in Fargo.
Remember no team has every come in here and won on their first try. Even playoff teams have been wiped out making their first appearance in the Thundar Dome (our mascot Thundar).
Do I dare say this will be a nice warm up game for us going into Iowa against the Hawkeyes and show you how to beat the big boys? Or is that too cocky?...... 2010 hurt so I can say that.....

Ironic you posted today, I just booked airline tickets and hotel rooms for Sept 9-11. The Eagles are coming off an off year and in a rebuilding phase. Cooper Kupp is the obvious star on the offense. The QB position is a little iffy at this point, we lost most of the O-line to graduation, the defense is still a work in progress, other than that we are really stout!
We're looking forward to the tailgating in Fargo.

To All,
Players start to report this weekend, and practices will be starting right after that. We have less than a month before we travel to WSU for the game Sept 3rd. Just hope we doesn't get any injuries before the games. Will keep my fingers and all crossed. Have a great weekend. Vic Wallace

Awesome. Its a long trip, but when you a chance to play in the Thundar Dome, you will know why visiting teams don't like playing here for their first time, yet its impressive, like a Mini Metro Dome from Minneapolis with the Concourses with History of Pics of Bison Past from early days of 1920 to the current. Give yourself some time to walk around inside prior to the game as well. Brand new Daktronic ScoreBoards across both end zones on the ceiling should give lots of replays and color excitement to the fans....

I was shocked to see a Red Field back in 2010, and we made SI magazine with a 2 page game photo, and every since I don't care for red. Green is much more fitting, lol.

I think you will be impressed with the Herd. Sounds like your teams going through growing pains early, but this year we should be as good as predicted, the only area a bit concerning is one of the corner back spots, otherwise we should be as tough as ever. My feeling is we should be as good as 2013 team as they went undefeated, but this years schedule is by far the toughest nonconference games, Eagles included, then down to Iowa to play the big birds Iowa Hawkeyes.
MVFC schedule is loaded this year. So lots of beating up each other. We may lose one game, either UNI or Western Illinois away? Oops Hawkeyes is a toss up., this team is good enough to beat them and make another FBS conquest to our record, but it will be tuff as hell.

I will be watching your first game prior to ours as will many other Bison Fans. We remember 2010, when it started the off season anger and the will to get back to the national playoffs and we haven't look back. Plum Crazy times, welcome to Title Town FCS Fargo ND in Sept.

See ya then, make sure to wear your red, good fun at the tailgating, you might even be offered a beer or two for coming this far.

Thunder Dome? Really? Seems like a multi-purpose conference center kinda thing with very large green and yellow blobs sticking to the seats. Just my impression....

I don't disagree on the color a bit; about the ugliest shades at green and yellow combo out there. But, I like the design on the stadium where the seating is very steep, on all sides and close to the field. I'm sure it looks and sounds like a lot more then 19,000 folks.

Can you tell me more about your Eagles this year. It looks like a rebuilding season is that correct?
I think Montana and UND should be tough, how about Portland State?

No Bad seat in our stadium as you said stadium is steep so everyones closer to the field.

Anyone who claims they have an idea of how we'll finish is lying. We could be great, could be terrible. There are more variables this season than I can remember in a long time.

NDSU benefits from catching us coming out of a game with Washington State. You'll be coming off a bye week. That's a big advantage for the Bison. Our schedule is absolute hell, so we're going to have to learn in a trial by fire. What's scary is that we typically open the season against an FBS team and play really well, and then come out and stink it up in our next game.

We are breaking in an all new offensive line. Most of the guys have seen game time, but playing almost every down is different than being in the rotation. I suspect we'll have trouble blocking NDSU's overload blitz. Even with a far more experienced line last season, we never figured out how to block it well. Montana kicked our ass running much the same defensive scheme you guys run.

Our passing game is likely our best asset. Lots of players coming back at WR. QB is a moving target, no one knows how we'll be at the position. Jordan West was great early in the year in 2015, but our whole QB unit fell apart later in the year. The job is wide open going into fall camp.

Defense is always our monkey wrench. We haven't played a lick of decent defense since we won the title in 2010. What's worse is that every year we seem to be a little worse than the year before. We've given up 50+ points in four outings each of the last 2 seasons. Our defensive line was atrocious last year, but we brought in a new coach who supposedly is a big improvement. Our LBs are a bit of a mystery as they were competent (see: average) last year but also really young. It's probably safe to assume this will be the strength of our D in 2016. Safety is the biggest concern; we were awful at the position last year and the only guy that was an impact player graduated.

Every team sort of ran a variation of the same kind of offense against us last year. We play a 4-2 and we play it very passive. Our strategy has been to keep everything in front of us, which means offenses are capable of long, sustained drives every time they touch the ball. It's almost comical to watch our safeties line up 15 yards deep when the opponent is in a 3rd and 2 situation. We gave up more first downs than anyone else in the Big Sky last year, and it wasn't even close. I'd strongly expect the Bison to be playing short yardage football against us trying dominate TOP.

If I was an NDSU fan, I'd be pretty confident about this game. The thing that would give me pause, though, is that Eastern always seems to have a couple huge efforts each year where we seem to play fantastic. If you catch us in one of those games, it'll be tough. If you catch us playing like we did toward the end of last season, it'll be a walkover.

Thank you. I try to be honest in my assessments. I'm not one to see things through rose-tinted glasses. This has the potential to be a train-wreck season just because we get hit with a tremendous level of difficulty early in the year and miss most of the paddycake teams in conference play. The coaches will be earning their money this year trying to navigate this schedule.

IMO, this season completely hinges on two things:

1. We need to improve by leaps and bounds on defense. With a young OL, expecting us to score 40+ just to have a shot at winning is totally unrealistic.

2. We need to get through September at 2-2. If we lose three of our first four, turn the lights out. As much as starting 1-3 would leave us mathematically still alive, the lack of confidence and and losing mentality that would set in would make turning the season around pretty much impossible.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I think Chaves kills our football team with his scheduling.

You guys play at WA-Grizzly Stadium every other year and seem to handle the environment better than most. EWU will be able to handle the noise in the dome just fine. I went to the UM/NDSU playoff game last year in Fargo and while it is loud, Washington-Grizzly Stadium is louder. The Fargodome is just more of an annoying loud.
