Final - 2014 Recruiting - 26 Verbals

Earlier this week I must admit that doubt was creeping in my mind about my son's decision to give his verbal EWU and not one of his other D1 A offers. I felt a sense of anxiety creeping in.

Well , with day 1 of our official visit in the books, I have to say that my son and I are, even more, impressed with the Athletic Director, coaching staff, and the athletic academic staff. They genuinely seem to care and I felt a a sense of relief that my son will have the needed resources to be successful! Compared to the schools we've dealt with, EWU has a truly unique feel to it. I can say that my son and I feel 100% that this is where he should be. EWU coaching staff are tremendous people, on and off the field, and all the recruits and parents that I spoke with last night fell the same way. We're coming to EWU, because it feels like home and we want our kids to be part of the EWU family. Whatever you do- work like hell to keep coach Baldwin here for a long time. he's a tremendous asset to this University!

Ok, now that I spilled my guts, lets talk some football!!! Very impressive class. I think this recruiting must rank higher than any other Mountain West school and is better then University of Idaho class- hands down! Many of them have other D1 options, but are choosing to go to EWU. There's speed everywhere in this class and I hope we don't lose any up to signing day. They seem to be excited to be eagles and ready to go, but i guess until that form is signed, you never know.

Hey Vick, if you'r at the B-ball game today and see the group of recruits say Hi to my son, The D-line kind of walks around together can't miss them!

By the way, there's more than 12 verbals- not sure who's missing, there's 4 verbals (full offers) for D-line on this visit alone, not including any partials that may be out there we don't know about.

Go eags!

unless the recruits comment in the media somewhere, there is no way of knowing who has actually given a verbal. the university cannot officially comment until national intent letter day.

Pic from visit's this weekend. Love Championship Vision on screen.

Go Eags!

Do the names Monike Sarte (Fife), Monike Failauga (Fife) or Jay Tee Tiuli (Federal Way) ring any bells on the fourth DL?

Nope, he's out of Aberdeen, Wa. Fist name is Nick, I believe

Thanks Air. Very happy with the class as it stands so far. Agree that EWU will be much faster next season at most positions. Glad you and you son had a good visit this weekend. Excited to be an Eag.

I am still relatively new to the board, but have noticed the last two recruiting seasons we have few or no offensive lineman as offers or verbals. None this year as far as this thread reports. Is it because of the depth we have had at OL the last two years,or something else?

air045,
Sorry I didn't get an opportunity to meet your son today at the MBB Game, all but two of them stayed in the Locker Room and watched the Hawks FB Game, two of them came up and sat couple of seats from myself, and daughter. Name Brad Curran, and Kalum Louvile, spelling could be wrong. I told Kelum he looked like Andru Pulu, he stated " I hope I can fill in in his position. Two "BIGS". Didn't ask their schools they were graduating from. None of them are on the Commitments list on the blog. I really appreciate the feelings you have for the Athletic Dept.,Coaches, and Players. Today at a lunch with the President and others, Steve Forgette, and Ashton Miller, both OL, spoke at the meeting. They can't wait to really join the Tail gates, etc. They both stated they think we will have a better team that just past, and will be an ALUMNI. We will have about 8 Players trying out for Pro Day, in a few months. Hope to see you and many more at the NLI Day, Feb 5th,and at the Football Banquet on Feb 22nd, lots of fun. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

To All,
Heard that there were 15 recruits on Saturday, of which 13 had committed to EWU in many ways. Will wait for Feb 5th, to find out who they are. The two young men I spoke to were happy very to be at the University, and attempting to get involved in our Athletic Program. They enjoyed the Basket Ball game, our Players were raining 3s, we had a total of 12 3 pointers in the game if I didn't miscount. The first defeat for MSU in the BSC by 5 points. Vic Wallace

air045,
Thank you very much for the correct name, seems as if I always butcher people names    , maybe it is my Virgin Islands accent ;) ;) ;) Do you know who is is Brad Curran? That is the name I heard, could be different. Kaleb is a Big Young man, along with his buddy, and very pleasant to talk with. After we introduced ourselves to Kaleb, put our hands out to shake, he hugged myself and daughter, and said "I am a hugger, and he loves friendly people. They had fun giving MSU little hell during the game, nothing negative, just feel happy rooting for their respective University. Still waiting for Feb 5th, 14. Vic wallace

IMHO it looks like this will be another class we will look back on as a real positive influence on the development of the Eagle program.
