Good crew so far!!! Love the two D-linemen! Maybe some OL upcoming?

I'd really like to land that Curran kid from Federal Way as well as Xavier Crawford.

Anyone know if DJ Martin is still on track for next season?
Singing day is always interesting in that the staff will have some kids that are totally off the radar have the potential to make a contribution so even there may not be OL listed does not mean that coach Best does not have some coming.

Actually, it's getting to where there are less and less of those off-the-radar guys each year. For one, it's because these recruiting sites just saturate the media. Second, Eastern is getting more of their primary targets and having less shake-out late in the game.

Again, anyone know DJ Martin's status?

hahaha, that seems to be the question ofthe year!!! Also great job by the coaching staff so far this looks like a great class!!!

Just an FYI- EWU now have a confirmed 11 or 12 verbal commits not 8- Including the flurry of 3 verbal commitments across twitter in the last 24 hours. Many players with D1A offers. Scout.com bloggers are buzzing on twitter about the latest verbal and the recruiting class. See twitter post below:

So to recap, in the last 24 hours, Eastern Washington has picked up Conner Baumann, Alek Kacmarcik and Terence Grady.... WOW!

Breaking News: We will be changing the name of our "Offers/Commits" page to "Beau Baldwin's Page Of Success".

Terence Grady http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/760470/highlights/73486392

Conner Baumann http://www.hudl.com/athlete/776489/#highlights/76099378

Alek Kacmarcik http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/751497/highlights/66535378

Grady looks like a Kaufman clone not only in his size but the way he moves. Can't wait to see him play after being coached up by Junior Adams, and providing the compliment to Kupp.

Jim Allen has 3 articles in Nov 28 Spokesman Review that tell the story of how your kid will be cared for if he is in Cheney for the next 5 years.

LDopaPDX/Clawman,
DJ Martin is still on board for EWU, we met him earlier during practice, preparing to attend his classes. Also excuse me, We met another RB, forgot his name, when I saw him from his back, I taught he was DJ Martin. Dude has some calf as if he had softballs in them. He is from California. Qincey Forte knows him, maybe next week will check with him. I normally don't worry about Oral Commitments, however the way we are getting those Orals says something about our programs, Coaches, and Players. hope everyone had an "Outstanding Thanksgiving". Go Eagles!!!!!Vic Wallace

air045,
Should you make it to any of the Playoffs Game, look me up, I sit in the "RED BACK SEATS", row 26 seats 5-8. Once you come in the gate from behind the Press Box go right under Press Box, 2 row on the left is where I sit. Have had those Seats approximately 15 years. Again can't wait for Feb NLI Day. I can honest say you and your family are going to really enjoy the family affair with our team. Great People, ie, Clawman, EWUmomma, kalm, loloman, and many many more, oh :o Vic ;) Happy Thanks Giving to all, stay healthy. Go Eagles!!!!!Vic Wallace

Thanks Vick. I will try to make a game (but out of town most of December)- Hopefully you'll get to take a peak at these players when they all come together for the official visit in January.

Watched Reilly Hennessey QB from Camas last night vs Bellermine Prep in the 4A semi-final. He sure looked good!

This Kid named Corey Harrison from Jacksonville Arkansas Plays OG but will probably play DT in college should Definitely get a Look from EWU HUDL: , : guard/ Guard/ Center, 6"3 330 Corey Harrison DT/OG #73 : http://www.hudl.com/athlete/500631/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; :D

Little outside our recruiting area there - but it'd be nice to expand that into the Southern states. :D

On another note, despite what appears to be an outstanding recruiting class so far, I'm a little concerned that we don't have any commitments from any offensive linemen yet. I know Dillard is on the radar, but from what I have been reading he may go to WSU.

Out of the highlights I've watched so far, Connor Baumann is by far my favorite. He weights 230 pounds and left kids in the dust with his speed. He also had excellent form tackling, quick feet, and lays BIG hits. I'm very excited to watch this kid play for Eastern.

Our coaches like lineman with quick feet. I knew a guy who tried to get onto eastern's team. He is about 6'3 and 300 pounds. Captain of his team and also made first team all league. The coaches told him that he moved his feet too slow, which implies that it will be hard to improve his speed. I saw the same problem with Corey Harrison. Big guy with good push, but his feet were slow which will cause him to lose his footing by a quick d-lineman.

Yeah he is a little slow if but if they will give him a chance at DT or OG HE WILL WORK HE LOVES EASTERN JUST LET THEY COACHES GIVE HIM A CHANCE AND HE WILL WORK WITH IT

Don't take my word as concrete, I'm only an observer and only stating what I saw. I'm sure he would do an excellent job plugging in the inside. It's all up to the coaches though. I wish your player the best of luck as he seeks a place in the next level of football.

If your feet aren't that fast, you sure better be strong as hell to make up for it. Strength negates speed, but being just "a little stronger" doesn't get it done. Anyone 300 pounds or heavier should be well above 400 pounds in bench press and 500 on deads. Really, you should be a 100 pounds heavier on each lift to be considered "strong" for your weight.

Which player are you talking about Red Devil? I'll tell you one thing, if a kid is 300 pounds and carries it well, loves the weight room, has a passion for football, and gets it done in the classroom... he's already winning half the battle. At the FCS level, 300 pounders who kick ass in the weight room and isn't carrying the weight like a potato sack are guys that you can win with. There aren't a lot of those kids out there. Most 300lbrs coming out of HS are morbidly obese and are actually 250lbrs with a weight problem.
