Hawaii vs UNC

I'm just saying Hawaii played App State. Hawaii offered to go to Mich to play today but Mich declined and chose App State instead. That is one reason why Hawaii is playing UNC today. I'm glad Mich lost.

I think all of us FCS fans are glad Michigan lost. :D I'd like to say good luck to both the Warriors and Bears tonight and I hope there are no injuries on either side. Bear Down!

Mich State backed out of a game with Hawaii too. Mich even turned down Idaho of the WAC. So much for the Big 10, ducking WAC teams. BTW I'm a Bears fan of sorts being a Cal Alum. (but it's Oski not Klaws).

I was refering to the app state win today, anything to give us UNC fans some hope, and yes i know that app state is on a whole different level then UNC but it gives us something. Looks like karma got michigan today ducking hawaii is one thing but ducking idaho???

I knew you were reffering to the App State win. I know that App State is a good team. I saw them play. Hawaii wont take UNC cheap. Hawaii lost to Portland State a few years ago when Hawaii could not stop a big tight end. Hawaii also had to come from behind to beat Montana a few years ago too.

42-0 at half. This is what I was afraid of. I guess we can take comfort in the fact that Weber was down 49-0 at half. This is ridiculous. How can we have fallen so far is three short years?

Now I see why Michigan and MSU wanted to avoid Hawaii. We appreciate game. I don't want to sound condescending...but Colt was about 3-levels above Troy Smith last year. Football is a team sport. He is supported by the most seasoned receiving corp in all of college football.

I watched a lot of college ball this first week. You gave us game.

Thank you.

Weber State? No. They got nut'n on you. Your coach, and your young team, got nothing to be ashamed of. Assignments were kept. Penalties were at a minimum.

Again, thank you.

Missed FG. Now a TD. Thank goodness. Missed the XP - need to work on the kicking game. I like the way Vlahogeorge is playing. Ahh crud a ko return for a TD. Need to type faster.

Birkel has made a good showing.

Depth is critical between leagues....

Cover your lanes. Control your blocks. ya da ya da ya...

Bears fans need to keep this all in perspective. We won't be the only team that Hawaii scores 60 on this year I bet. There have been positives in the game. Considering the defense they went against, both Breazeale and Vlahogeorge looked competent. Mendoza looked very good, and our defense looked pretty good in the second half. Next week's game shoiuld go a lot better.

63-6 Final.

All and all we did ok. Our team looked ok aginst the second and third stringers. Our D looked pretty good I think. Our offense looked ok. Vlahogeorge got player of the game by Hawaii TV, and lead a nice drive. Birkel had a good game also. Special teams need a lot work... a blocked FG and PAT, plus two runbacks....

ok maybe i let the ap st game give me to much false confidence but watching the game i dont think we are in as bad of shape as many people thought going into this year, hawaii is pretty dam good. we didnt have to many penalties, other then the pat/fg (good snap bad hold on fg) issues i dont think our special teams were to bad, that punt return should have been called back on a clipping call. glad our team showed some class and didnt get a bunch of cheap 15 yarders (psu thats why oregon wont put you on their schedule they are not afraid of you). i think vlahogeorge played well maybe well enough to become that starter. we will have to do more to establish a running game there were no wholes for our running backs but i think that was mostly the fact hawaii is a faster stronger team. and most of all it did not look like there were any major injuries.

God bless June Jones for calling off the dogs at half time, though I would expect nothing less from a class act like him.

Were there many UNC fans at the game?

Good luck bows fans, It would be nice to see you get a BCS bid this season.

The best thing is that the Bears did not give up. Cut down on the mistakes and you will win games. Good Luck on the rest of the season.

I really did not see too many mistakes by the Bears, maybe a missed assignment or two, very few penalities, and the one int by Breazeale, but UH is just simply so much better. Despite the score (what where we expecting) this game gives me a positve outlook for the rest of the season.

Some positives for the Bears to take away from the game. Birkel seems to be back to his self and he really stepped up. Mendoza really punted well. Somethings to work on include the PAT team and our d-line had no pressure on the qb. Granted it was against a very good o-line.
