New Coaching Candidates

It is easy for KlondikeBear to bash Collins and myself when he is hiding behind a screen name on a sports forum. Anyone can talk tough when they are not face to face with the person they are talking down to. I have a few questions for KlondikeBear. Did you play D1 college football? What is the highest level of football you have ever played? Have you ever coach football at any level (youth sports does not count)? If so, where and when? As far as the toaster in the bathtub comment, very creative. If we meant in person, I doubt you'd have the courage to say something like that, you'd probably just say something like "Would you like an apple pie with that?" Keep bashing away. :coffee:

 great return volley! But seriously consider the bathtub or jacuzzi idea if your such a big strong football player man. Let thE grown folks talk, your embarassing yourself.

To answer your twice asked same question, of course I played football!....... in jr high! Then I blew my knee, unfortunately I had to retire early. But if I had to guess I bet I woulda made it at least 4-5 years within the Colorado ice organization. And no I don't coach, I donate dollars and if I saw you in person I'd bitch slap you.

I'm serious though, this reponse was worse than the first by the Mc. Dude go work on your back peddle into oncoming 56 traffic between 12-1 for me and my dually while you think up your next mystifying response.

Guess I nailed that on the head. You are a never-was wanna-be who thinks you can run off at the mouth because you donate a few dollars. Newsflash - you don't have enough money to buy an informed opinion. Stick with what you know, but obviously football is something you have no experience in, and absolutely no clue about. Seriously, you'd have to stand on something to bitch slap me. Support Coach Collins!

McCandyman, just because one has not played/coached football at a high level doesn't mean they can't have a well informed opinion. I have never been a Senator or Congressman but I can tell you when they are not doing their job.

Since you are obviously more in the loop than the rest of us are, what is Collins doing that makes him worth keeping when his record is nothing but horrific? Like I said, we are not asking for the moon, just a few wins.

In a previous post I mentioned a few big names coaches who would have probably not faired any better than Collins if they walked into the same situation. One of them was Bill Snyder from Kansas State. Snyder went 1-11 his first season. He beat North Texas State with a long pass on the last play of the game. I was there. Snyder, like Collins, walked into a program that had no idea what it meant to be competitive and win. He had to make his players EXPECT to win every time they stepped onto the field. That took time, probably due to the fact that the players that graduated each year were replaced with guys he recruited, several of those players from winning Juco teams. Winning is an attitude. Without the attitude, its hard to win. Collins, and his coaching staff, are working on getting UNC to have that attitude. Granted there are players who do not like the new coaching staff, however the younger players in the program that Collins recruited, seem to respect him and believe that they are moving in the right direction. The young players are the future of the program. Have patience. If you constantly pick at a scab, it will never heal. UNC has some healing to do. Support Coach Collins!

Mccandyman why don't you reveal your true elustrious identity? I must be speaking with a Reed Doughty or Vince Jackson if were gonna truly up the stakes on who knows what based on playing careers and perspective validity?! What did you do? Where have you coached and who mentored you at such a qualified level? Must be really good! Because I do see true wisdom in your rare and informed or experienced word of truth where your past has defined such remarkable charisma to attract the masses only possible vesavee tackles and touchdowns. You must've called your own plays you sound so truly qualified........ I stand in correction of my inexplicable behavior and ask the masses to be patient the worst offense and defensive FCS team in the nation. For we petty non playing fools cannot fathom the genius plot that must take place within the press box rooms and BH offices........ :dead:

Give it a rest dude and go play your video games while you live in the past or vicarisely through someone else.

That is a very good post. Now I understand your point of view. I may not agree with all of it, but I do get where you are coming from. :thumb:

Great post! You're right. I don't like all of the things Collins does and I've written them in some posts. However, I like a lot of things about him. As vetteman also posted, you can't expect much an A+ coach to come in here when we're only paying C+ money.
The guy has had one full recruiting cycle. Give him some time.

What happen dikebear?? Bearcrawls not giving you enough attention at home so you had to come on here mess with grown folk?

Don't mind dikebear, he thinks he knows football because he is good at predicting scores..

So dikebear, since you criticize so much, how about you offer some solutions? Since you claim to be soooo smart and we are all delusional. You are the only person "in the know". You seem to know the ins and outs of how a FCS program should be built. Are you going to put you name in the hat for when it come time to chose another coaching candidate?

And who are you? Are you part of the ex Downing crew?

Please knock it off with the name calling. It's not productive and doesn't help your arguement.

Yeah, there's no doubt that Klondike and more than a fan are either part of Downing's staff or that guy who wrote that b.s letter in to the Trib.

Oh absolutely I am and maybe you guys can come be my assistant coaches when I apply for the head coaching position. How about this deal? You guys can be my references only if you promise to give a solid reference though! Don't be mean! Ok and then when we all get off work at night with our real life jobs we can go play coaches, seriously I'd enjoy it because we only have to win 1 for every 17 games. The wife may be a little upset given the time constraints but I think we make it work. What say you bear24, beardown, mccandy uhhh who else.....TROY! Let's get Troy on our football staff.

Holy crap, could you imagine us message board folks running the UNC football team? The QB would be yanked after his 1st incomplete pass of the game.
