NEW HEAD COACH WISH LIST

I'm new here, but like the idea of Zack Hill, I looked it up, I think it said he makes $215?
And someone talked earlier about "catching a rising star".
Has ties to EWU, knows the staff (what's left) and the offense.
If its not Best and you want EWU ties he could be your guy.
If you want to go out of the EWU family I vote Bobby Hauck, brings offense, credibility and will continue winning tradition, granted probably a stepping stone. But....

Welcome to the board. I would agree he would be a good pick up as well.

Very surprised Zack doesn't make more than that. If that's the case it would seem he's in the mix.

Hill is at $215. He's an up and comer and would be a good fit as he has tons of PNW contacts. I would think he would be interested if the money is in the ball park. Hope Chaves talks to him...personally I like the idea.

Some of the names here shock me. I'm not sure what program some of you have been watching over the last few years. Why on Earth would we want to do a complete reboot with someone like Hauck? We need cultural continuation, because our current culture of playing good football and graduating players is a formula for a successful program. We can certainly improve, but we need little tweaks, not throwing our game plan out the window.

I would love to see Jimmy Lake, but not sure he takes the pay cut.

I think Hill and Best seem like two very good candidates...It will be interesting to see if we look outside the EWU family, I doubt it.

It would be weird if Hauck were hired, but I wouldn't be completely opposed to it, as long as he brought in a QB/offensive guru for OC like Hill. Would love a strong defensive-minded HC and a young talented QB/offensive guru as OC.

McPherson was quoted by Jim Allen that the new HC "rumor" it will be internal.

McPherson said Wednesday that “the morale in the locker room is not too bad, because we know we’re going to hire from within.”

With the last couple recruiting classes, this year's class, and the talent EWU has returning going internal makes sense than bringing in an external hire who would want his staff.

If Chaves is looking for 9-10 win seasons the next 2-3 years to get funding for the new stadium this seems logical.

EAGinAZ,
I agree with your idea about Coach Best, Get Zach Hill, Zach knows the QB System. I am hoping we really get our Coach from within. I am just hoping for the "BEST" for our Team, Coaches, and Players. Will just wait and see. Hope Chaves check with the Players. Vic E. Wallace. With Coach Beau gone, we will have
to re-set the Football Banquet.

I just read on Football Scope that Zac Hill will not return to EWU in any capacity. The only two choices I see is Junior Adams or Best.

Here is a name I have not heard of and now thinking about it..... why not.....Michael Roos

Has never coached at any level. Now if Best becomes the HC, I don't mind bringing Roos in as the O-line Coach.

I think John Zamberlin would be a great fit for the program with his ties to Washington and is a great recruiter of the area also being a previous coach at ewu

I've heard good things about Zamberlin but his record at ISU was 4-28. Albeit a very tough place to win.

Greg Peach is retired from the CFL and I think I heard a rumor he's helping with a high school program somewhere local.

That would be another good "Eagle" to think about.
As for Zamberlin....no thank you. :ohno:
