NEW OC

I wouldn't mind seeing Schwindt at left tackle. We need someone huge and strong at that position. Our offensive line was the weakest part of the team last season. Some due to injury though.

Three broken legs and a concussion in the first two games will weaken any offensive line and make it difficult to recover. IMO they played pretty well after the Eastern Washington and Montana State games which were played pretty soon after all the injuries.

i gave some bad info on bryce. he is not on campus yet. he will enroll in the summer, for summer school. the coaches are expecting him to be a big part of the 1st string o-line. i believe at left tackle, but, not positive. and, i would not say here, or, anywhere what exactly he got caught with in his system. thats just not fair to the kid. we all make bad choice's from time to time. good luck to bryce!

well i talked to a good friend of bryce's and he told me bryce is going to the community college by his house so he will be eligable in the fall and he is working out like crazy, according to my "source" he is bigger and stronger than ever, weighing about 300 pounds and he has really worked on his feet too so i could see him as the left tackle. as for the supplements it was just a pre workout drink with caffene and creatine and something in it tested positive, bwhich i think is BS the ncaa suspends a player from school and football for something like that but he has learned from his mistakes and he is ready to get back to greeley and take a spot on the o-line, go get em bryce!!!

I was so put off by the some of the info on this thread that I finally had to create an account. You can consider my post 100% factual.

I think people have the right idea about why bryce got in trouble, and I don't know what Bryce told his friends, but he was not suspended by the NCAA. He did not get tested this semester by the NCAA at all even. It's not fair to put his business out on the internet, but he was kicked out of school. He has fought his suspension from school and from what I've heard has won, and will be back in the fall. I wouldn't say this is an absolute indicator of whether he was guilty, but I hope Bryce really wasn't at fault.

He wasn't an all american in high-school. He played for the USA National team which competes world wide. It is NOT all-american, they are very different. Bryce had no other D1 offers (http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Bryce-Schwindt-85809), which is indicative of the type of player he is... an average at best player at the D1-AA level.

Furthermore, he is too short and unathletic to play left tackle. He can't move his feet well enough and his arms aren't long enough to keep long defense ends from destroying him with any sort of pull move (if not their athleticism), especially considering that he leans excessively in pass protections. When Bryce comes back he has a shot to play at guard, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him riding the pine.

For those looking for Bryce to help elevate the offensive line, you're out of luck. What you should be happy to see is 5 offensive linemen with starting experience returning next year (Barbiasz, Shapiro, Gumbs, Candler, McGraw) and 6 O-lineman that have signed a LOI coming here next year (including 1 JC transfer at guard), all bettered by the coaching of newly hired Brad Biddell.

I did this without trying to say anything rude.

Wow, a post dedicated to Bryce Schwindt, a fringe starter on the offensive line. Look how far we've come.

I think the reason people may have gotten the wrong impression about how good Schwindt was supposed to be is because he was so hyped by the coaching staff (one in particular) when he signed his LOI to come to UNC. I believe the coach's quote was "if he was a couple inches taller we would never have had a shot at him".
'Rumor' is right about him, he's not a tackle; perhaps a guard. He came out of a Columbine program that runs the ball 99% of the time so his pass blocking is the area that needs the most improvement.

On another note, from what I've heard, the OL is thrilled about being coached by Brad Bedell. This is going to be a veteran group of offensive linemen who will benefit greatly from being coached by a great guy who's played 6 or 7 years in the NFL.

I, for one, don't know what you're referring to by ("Where have we heard this before???"). What are you talking about Bd? Where have we heard "what" before?

If you're referring to the comments made by "rumorbreaker" it sounds to me like he certainly knows football and knows what he's talking about concerning Schwindt also.

I don't know anything about Schwindt but I was referring to the many people coming on here and always say they know everything and what they write is 100% truth.
