Next seasons OOC - Texas Tech & Boston College

I heard from a source in the athletic department, that Weber didn't have anyone on their OOC for next season. I know that, since the coaching staff changed up North, that USU dropped us and instead, are going to be playing ISU? I do know that Weber was contacted by Arkansas. I for one would like to see Weber play some FCS teams, maybe from the Southland or Great West, or beatable FBS teams like New Mexico State or Nevada, preferably teams that are close by so that I can go to the games.

I'd love to play UC Davis or Texas State. How about a CAA or Missouri Valley team? I know those East Coast schools are afraid to come out west (it probably has more to do with money), so that might never happen, but it would be cool.

HOW ABOUT SUU? I think its SUU's administration that wont play us. They wont make money off of a Weber/SUU game, supposedly, even though, that is usually one of the best attended games be it in Ogden or Cedar. I for one would love to see that rivalry renewed.

I would guess that Cal Poly or UC Davis would be desirous of a matchup. Great West always seems to need games.

Good idea to look towards the Southland. There are four teams down there with above 10,000 average attendance. That should be more than enough to pay for the trip.

I thought we did well to choose Wyoming and Colorado State this yar. Despite the outcome, those were winnable matchups.

That sucks that USU backed out. pu$$ie$!!!

Maybe Hawaii wants a rematch?

To my knowledge USU was never on the schedule for next year. It was the old coaching staff that got fired that was planning on playing us in 2010. I knew one of the coaches back then.

When the new staff got hired thats when the rumors of the game ended.

So is Wyo in 2011 the only game we know is for sure?

I would guess we'll have dixie or western state or um-western or some other naia/dII coming to Ogden.

USU needs to play ISU anyway lol, they allowed 34 pts to SUU and just lost to NMSU. So that tells me BYU & Utah suck more than we think.

How about this for a schedule.

@ UNLV
@ SUU (since the last game in the series was in Ogden)
home to any of the following - UC Davis, North or South Dakota, North or South Dakota State, Northern Iowa, Texas State. ( not Cal Poly cause we play home to them this season, and we dont want to play 3 away OOC games).

that would be great with Hawaii and all the polynesians we have on the team!!!

I know this is going to sound weird but about UCF in Orlando. I would think a lot of people would make that trip. I would try since I am a fan of UCF still. Of couse I would go for Weber if we played them.

Oh yeah that sure would make A LOT of sense, actually no it wouldn't. Get real here what makes you think a lot of fans would go to this game? We don't even get a lot of fans to a home game so why on earth would we travel well to Florida?
Bring on utah State, UNLV, Southern Utah,Or any other WAC or Mountain West team.

You think people wouldn't want to go to Disney World before or after the game. UCF played Idaho in Florida a ten years ago and they brought about 100 fans to the game and conserding the long trip that is and they don't have alot of fans.

Maybe Florida International or Florida A&M both of those games would be winnable. Well, actually UCF would be too. However, I agree with AJ, traveling to Florida wouldn't make much sense, but I would love to go to Disney World. I'd like to play more Western teams. If Weber has to travel make sure its an all expense paid trip and that the school/team gets to bring home a lot of CASH!!

I'd love to play UNLV... close and a very winnable game. How about San Jose, New Mexico State, Fresno St, or New Mexico? SUU should be a yearly game, so should USU.

According to Utah State's "State of the Aggies" address. (about 40 minutes in) https://podcasts.usu.edu/MediaPlayer/player.html?filename=class/athletics/StateofAggies. We are playing the Aggies on September 10th, 2011.

USU really must be holding on to stay fbs. In that link Purpleblood sent the aggie AD said they have 4,300 season tkt holders this year in football. I talked to the marketing dept at wsu and they said we had 2-3,000.

Montana had 19,000 this year and the stadium only holds 25k. USU said their goal is to get 10,000 season tkt holders.

I believe Utah had 30,000 last year and even more this year.

Can anybody explain to me why WSU no longer plays Southern Utah in football? Seriously, this was always a fun road trip and a good game.

We need to regularly play where we recruit: San Diego State, Hawaii, and one of the Oklahoma schools.

I agree with Native, its good to go play places where the kids Weber is recruiting can get a look at the team in action. However, SUU is a in-state rival, and Weber should be playing them yearly. Unfortunately, I think its SUU that wont schedule Weber, it all comes down to money. Weber wont pay them anything. If I was SUU, since they are trying to get into the Sky, they should be playing as many Big Sky schools as possible, especially WEBER.

Okay... so its nice to know that Weber is playing USU in 2011, but what about next year? I've heard rumors, but I don't think any of us want to play the rumored teams (Arkansas), I do know they are a lot better than Western State.
