Here is the story from Tech's student paper. Notice the comments below the article. Tech fans are not happy about this schedule, including the late season game against Weber.

Double Ouch!!! I hear possibly Arkansas or Arizona State as well. :ugeek:
You think the athletic department would learn. They totally scheduled their way out of the playoffs this year.

Good job Bovee!! I'm glad that he is making the schedule!?! Evidently he has no idea what would really help the Cats, and his football program. Two FBS games in an 11 game season wont, and against teams that Weber has a less than 10% chance of beating. That isn't how you build a solid foundation upon which to build a good program. You've got to give your teams a chance. I understand a money game, but 2? Weber needs to play 11 winnable games, in my opinion, which will give them the best chance of making the playoffs. SUU?? Ever heard of that school? Just suck it up and travel to Cedar. Also, no DII's or NAIA's. We need a strong schedule one that will get us notoriety and make our team better. Why not try to schedule Great West or Southland teams?

Where did you get Virginia Tech?

I was told at the game last Saturday that Weber will play Arizona State and Texas Tech in 2010, but I have not seen it in print.

Two FBS, not winnable games, long distances too far to travel. The new AD sucks.

I have found three different sites with a 2010 ASU football schedule, but none with Weber State.

Arizona State really? They already have Portland State scheduled for next season, I highly doubt the sun devils would play 2 Big Sky teams.

Or the new AD has a budget number to meet and this is the best way to make it happen. If you don't want them to play these games, pony up the money.

please try and understand the fans point of view.

Why the Hell doesn't Weber just have all their non-conf games be against D1 teams? What we have to settle with Texas Tech? was Florida busy or scared or something? lol

Fair enough, but I wish we could get by on only one un-winnable FBS game instead of two, and that it would be within reasonable distance for a few fans to attend.

How much of the revenue from the FBS games stays within the football budget?!???

Didn't mean to cause a stir. The source is very reliable. Its still a blank on the Vatech schedule so I suppose things could change. Sounds like its going to happen, though.

Best way to make it happen? Screw that. How about getting off your lazy a$$es and doing some actual marketing for once. You know, actually make an effort to increase attendance. But then I guess that would take much more effort than simply whoring your football team out to some big program.

Agreed, if we are going for these big money games why settle for ASU and Texas Tech, we might as well go for the most money possible - Okla/Michigan/Ohio St/Florida/Texas , these schools pay 800k to a million.

ASU paid ISU 500k I believe.

Where'swaldo, please tell us what the goals and action plan of WSU is? Thats probably the most frustrating part for the die-hard fans is that it seems like nothing is happening to better our programs.

Did anyone watch that USU video thats in this thread? The AD tells what is going on up north and what they are doing and where they are going with the football program and what they are going to do to get things improved/turnedaround/built up.

if we play both Va Tech and Texas Tech, and it's confirmed...we're done for next season...really, with all of the hardships this year, next year will be worse. Once they announce the schedule, I see a few players considering transferring to other schools where the administration doesn't 'whore' the football team out just to have the AD make his numbers.

I still back Mac, but wish the Admin would too....... :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
