I know I've taken some shots at Bovee for the scheduling woes, but where'swaldo is right. Bovee was put in a really rough spot. He was stuck in a department full of idiots, and told to make gold out of straw. Nothing was ready for next year when he took over. Usually, a team knows their football schedule two or even three years in advance, but Weber had nothing for next fall. I'm kinda impressed we got something. And I'm with whereami, granted my faith isn't as strong as his, but who knows, miracles can happen and Weber could end up winning.
With Cam being a senior next year, not a lot of schools wanted to play Weber, yes everyone was lining up to play us in 2011 (HOKE will be almost as good as Cam, so USU and WYO still better watch out), because he is gone. I heard Graybeal complaining about it last spring at a luncheon. YES, I was eavesdropping.
Keep in mind we aren't in the position to play FCS road games. Why would anyone come here if we won't go there? Just ask SUU.
I just worry about our team; Injuries, moral, and confidence. However, Cal Poly had two FBS games last year, winning one and barely losing to Wisconsin at the end of the season. Granted, their first was against SDSU, but they made the most out of a bad situation. We should support the team and the program, and have faith in their abilities. My mantra is, "Who Knows Weber might just win."
Big diff between a bottom of the barrel Mtn West and a Pac 10 or Big 12 or ACC.
Two other points. First, I wouldn't doubt it if Mac is supporting these games. He's tough and he expects his team to be tough. I'm sure he welcomes these type of contests to see where his team is and what they need to improve on. Also, Weber better be getting a shiz load of cash for these games. By the by, which players are considering transfering because of a schedule?
We will soon find out if Mac is for or against these games. As for playing these games to know what to improve on they are saying the TT game is the final week of the season. How will that help?
