I think that you all just need to cool your jets. Attached is an article from the Kansas City Star about Charlie Weiss, the head football coach at the University of Kansas: http://www.kansascity.com/2013/11/30/4660042/halftime-report-kansas-state-21.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
For those of you unfamiliar with the program at Kansas, under head coach Mike Mangino (National Coach of the Year in 2007) they played qualified and won a BCS bowl game. After he was forced to resign in 2009, he was replaced by Turner Gill. Gill lasted two years and was replaced by Charlie Weiss. Since Mangino, Kansas is 9 and 39. Weiss' record is a dismal 4 and 20 with 2 of those wins coming against FCS teams. Kansas' AD Zenger was quoted in the article, “I’ve been through rebuilding projects many times, and we’re going to stay the course,” Zenger said. “Wins and loses aren’t always indicative of the effort put in by this coaching staff and these players over the past couple of years.
“I’m proud of their effort and their work ethic, and we’ll continue to chop away at this.” Zenger is right. Coach Collins, his staff, and his players will "continue to chop away at this." Charlie Weiss has multiple Super Bowl rings from his time with the Patriots. His staff includes defensive coordinator Dave Campos, former head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Are these two bad coaches just because they haven't won at Kansas? NO! Are they clueless coaches that don't know how to prepare a team? NO! My point is that it takes time to turn around a losing program. Losing is a culture. We need to be patient, just like the AD from Kansas is.
