Wow, after reading some of these posts it is very clear why Weber has remained the big fish in the little pond all these years, while others in the state have improved their standing. Until more fans, the administration, the AD and the coach raise their sites we will remain in the pond. It seems, that for most, that is a worthy goal. But it is also nice to know that there are some who have set their sites higher and push to get Weber athletics to rise up and claim their rightful position.

Yeah cause we as fans have any control over what happens at the administrative levels

:dunce: :dunce: :dunce:

Actually, we do. We speak with our wallets and our presence. If enough of us are unsatisfied and the money keeps going down, that creates change.
PURP; I agree with you most of the time. However, I'm calling BS on this one. Simply leaving the scene and not buying tickets will not drive change. You are simply gone and out of everyone's minds. The way to make change is to get involved, contribute, and voice your desires. Attendance dropped last year but revenues actually went up. So, a few fans not showing up had no impact at all. Sure, those who contribute the most have the most say, but I have seen those who contribute just a little have an impact as well. The key is to get involved, not to withdraw and become invisible.IMO
So buying season or individual tickets is not contributing? Guess that's why I never heard from anyone when I decided to stop buying the season tickets I had been buying for several years. Guess my purchase just wasn't important enough and now I'm simply gone and out of everyone's minds. Most people can't contribute beyond buying tickets (it costs a minimum of $50 to take a family of 5 to a game) or would rather contribute to better causes. I can think of a hundred causes better than the Wildcat Club. What a poor business model. If Weber was a business they would have been out of business a long time ago. Why would anyone think dropping attendance would be okay? I would say that anyone with this kind of attitude is part of the problem.

I disagree. The athletic administration has made it pretty clear to me they do things their way with little to no regard of what the supporters would like to see. They really seem tone deaf much like the outgoing presidential administration. Maybe you are right, though, if there are less butts in seats, less contributing, and less excitement in the community for their product and they have no interest in seeing that as a problem and going on their merry way, maybe you are right.

Exact same scenario here maybe with the exception that I tried reaching out to them, attempting to communicate with several different offices over about 3 seasons before I cut the cord. The silence was deafening! I was over 20 years, multi-sport season ticket buyer. I didn't and don't have the means to be a large dollar donor like my grandparents were, however, season tickets were not the only monetary support my family was offering during this 20+ year period.

I don't personally know SWeberCat02-- at least not to my knowledge-- but (he) seems to have many similarities in situation and interest. I do personally know a handful of other households who have expressed similar experiences with WSU and ended in very similar ways. I cannot understand how/why anyone can be blind to what an incredibly poor business model this is.

I'm not sure how the ticket office works, but I'll take your word that they don't call when someone simply does not re-up on their tickets, just like the grocery store does not call you if you start shopping at a new store. However, I do know that the University Development office and the Wildcat Club will call if a contributor drops. I have been involved in that process before. I have also been involved when opinions have been sought on personnel issues. Of course, some opinions carry more weight than others, but everyone who wants to be heard is.

I believe that WSU cares about all of their customers. The question is, do they care about the ticket purchaser enough to go running after them when the don't re-up? I guess the answer is no. Do they care about your opinion? Probably, but not enough to seek it out. Clearly, if you want to be chased after and your opinion to be seriously considered, you will need to contribute to WSU in some other way. If your desire is to have them kiss your Azz, then you will have to contribute in a bigger way.

When you have stated, on this forum, that you are not a ticket purchaser, you don't contribute in any way, and yet you are wanting your opinion to count, you are just pissing into the wind my friend. I find it hard to believe that you are a fan at all. I think you may be an angry person, who hates his life, and wants everyone else to hate theirs as well. :coffee:

runner, you don't know a thing about me. Go ahead and call me out as not being a fan, your opinion of me doesn't mean jack shit to me. And the last thing I'm going to do is try to convince you or anyone else that I'm a fan. I'm comfortable in my own skin. So go ahead and go to the same old "you're not a real fan" crap, just like you guys go to anytime someone mentions something negative. I was a Jazz season ticket holder for several years at the cheapest level and I constantly got calls from the Jazz asking how I was enjoying my experience and when I opted to not renew they wouldn't stop calling me. I once talked to a USU fan who was late in paying for his season tickets and they had student athletes calling him asking him to renew. In business every customer is important. I'm not asking for them to kiss my ass, I just find the effort they give to be an utter embarrassment to the school I proudly call my alma mater.

I want to believe you.

Get involved and stay involved, everyone will believe you, everyone will care about your opinion. :thumb: :thumb:

Classy.

Aside from the back & forth, since most posters check & know with their smart phones...for the rest of us dinosaurs> EWU beat Central Arkansas by 17, UND lost by 3 to Richmond, & Sam Houston St beat Chattanooga 41-36.

Our soon-to-be BSC Idaho Vandals get to play in a FBS bowl! (last hurrah?) in the Idaho Potato Bowl, of course! Versus Colorado St.

For Utahns who care a little, BYU vs. Wyoming in San Diego and Utah vs. Indiana in the Foster Farms Bowl wherever that is. :-D

Congrats to Eastern Washington in getting to the semi-finals of the FCS playoffs, blanking Richmond. Final Four: James Madison (absolutely thumped Sam Houston St!), Youngstown St, North Dakota St (beat SDSU) and EWU. Go Eagles, bring the trophy back to the BSC!

EWU vs Youngstown St. - Per ESPN FCS scoreboard it says: "Incredible last second catch sends Youngstown St. to the FCS Playoff Championship game vs. James Madison. My guess, James Madison by a couple of TDs. :coffee:

You should try to find a video of the game winning catch if you haven't seen it. It was a great game. EWash was the better team, but couldn't put YSU away.

Heck of a catch by that YSU player. I do think Eastern was the better team but that is why they play the game.

It was a great season for Eastern, one of the best in their history. Here's hoping one day Weber will get good enough to start challenging for more than just a playoff spot.

As for the National Championship I feel the Dukes are rolling and are just too hot right now. I think the Dukes take it big.
