Was profiled on a Nevada Wolfpack site summer 2011:

“I had a good year, but there’s a lot of things I want to improve on,” Davis said. ”We started fall practice recently, and yes, I’m playing both ways.”

Does Davis have a preference?

“I play noseguard on the D-Line and tackle on the O-Line, and if I had to say I enjoy one over the other it would be defense. That’s where I’m hearing from most programs, including Nevada.”

Standing 6-5 and weighing 235 pounds, Fox has the frame coveted by college programs. Add in 4.7 speed and a strong motor on the field and you can see why this sleeper is gaining increased attention.

Do we have a realistic shot at some of these guys? For Kitching, what other schools are going after him?

(I don't want to spring for a premium membership) :?

We have at least a 50/50 chance on Kitching. Maybe better than that.

This guys only other option is an NAIA team? Is he D1 material? We shouldn't be going for in-state linemen. Get those boys from the mid-west, like NDSU and SDSU do. They're huge. When was the last really good linemen we had from CO?

Is Rubelcoba the only QB we are after? If we don't land him that will be 3 years in a row we haven't signed a QB and that's a concern.

Shane Barron, Flint Michigan
Switched from wide receiver to quarterback for his senior year.

http://m.ourmidland.com/mobile/article_431f3975-58e7-5989-81b7-61b6cef2c6fa.html
Explosive QB
A player like Flint Carman-Ainsworth senior quarterback Shane Barron doesn't come around too often.

"We've faced some good ones here, and (Barron) might be the most electric guy I've seen since Mark Ingram," Midland coach Eric Methner said in reference to the former Flint Southwestern running back who won the 2009 Heisman Trophy at Alabama and now plays for the New Orleans Saints. "If you get him a crack, it's a touchdown -- no two ways about it. He has incredible speed, great balance, great vision, and he's got great moves in the open field."

These players we are recruiting have all played QB in high school:

Barron, Shane WR ... 5-10, 170-pound ... Flint, MI - Carman-Ainsworth
UNC's Runningbacks coach Terrance Robinson attended the same HS as Barron; Barron made headlines when he broke Robinson's school record for most rushing yards in a game. Robinson posted 296 yards in the 2000 season, but Barron had 337 rushing yards on 23 carries in a single game in 2011.
Barron was moved to QB as a senior.
Barron is a unique athlete whose talents Williams has tried using to the fullest extent possible. Barron almost never leaves the field, playing running back and receiver on offense, playing cornerback on defense and returning kicks.

To ensure that Barron has the ball in his hands as much as possible this season, Williams decided before the end of last season that his best athlete should play quarterback this year.

Risner, Taylor … ATH* … Wiggins, CO … Wiggins … 6’1” 185 All State Colorado ... Status: COMMIT
• plays QB for Wiggins HS, is being recruited as ATH

Rubalcaba, Sean QB .... CO-Grand Junction ..... 6'2" 185 ....offers N Dakota, S Utah All State Colorado

Kitching has four offers. He's narrowed it down to two schools.

Addition on Sevrin Remmo who visited this weekend.

Remmo mentioned that Northern Colorado can offer him something that no other schools can.

"I thought it was pretty cool because my brother is up there. I could have a chance to play with him. I feel that the program is starting to turn around quite a bit. I'm pretty excited."

Did not make the connection earlier ...

Moving off the "offered" list,to committed elsewhere:

Wick, Shaun RB ... Ventura, California St. Bonaventure ... 5'11" ...190 Sac State

Wick has accepted a position with the University of Wyoming, as did fellow visitor (not on our list) Athlete/Running Back DJ May.
http://rivals.yahoo.com/wyoming/football/recruiting/player-Shaun-Wick-123021

How do these commitments this affect UNC's recruitment of the talented RB Jordan Roberts, Wyoming's Gatorade Player of the Year, who visited Greeley and South Dakota this month, but was said to be hoping for a Wyoming (dream) offer?
http://trib.com/sports/high-school/...cle_872ba9d7-8bd0-5398-8fae-b63f7037804c.html

University of South Dakota - couldn't find any mention of Roberts or any other visit, whatever happens there is quiet, quiet, quiet. They did just get a new coach at the end of 2011. Their old coach is a finalist for the opening at Mesa State.

Wait and see, folks.

More on Jordan Roberts, from a U of Wyoming blog.

http://wyomingcowboysblog.com/2012/01/04/roberts-to-visit-uw-in-late-january/

Question: [would he consider walking on to Wyo] to leave a spot open for additional players? That is how WYO could get ahead a little bit.

Answer:
Roberts is a good student so that could be a possiblity, but some folks have told me who know the kid that he does not plan to walk-on, not at UW or any where for that matter. He does have the scholarship offers from Northern Colorado and South Dakota, and the impression I get he will choose between one of those two if no one else offers him.

Roberts is scheduled to visit UW the last weekend in January.

His numbers are eye-popping: 308 carries, 2,688 yards and 38 touchdowns. He had 2,938 yards of total offense and averaged 9.1 yards every time he touched the ball.

Roberts has no FBS scholarship offers, and UW is the only FBS school he is scheduled to visit at this point. He does have two FCS scholarship offers from Northern Colorado and South Dakota, where former UW coach Joe Glenn was just hired.

UNC ties: In 1987, Glenn joined the staff at University of Northern Colorado (UNC) as quarterbacks and kicking coach. He was named head coach of UNC for the 1989 season. Glenn led the Division II University of Northern Colorado to two NCAA Division II national football championships in 1996 and 1997. Glenn spent eleven seasons at UNC, with a 98-35 record. His next stop was Montana.
