Post offers here (rumors and gossip welcome)

Nick Dalton
6-4 190
Bear Creek High School, Colorado

Nick Dalton visited Northern Colorado last weekend.

Had early interest from CU (primarily as a punter), but they have too many specialists on the roster right now and a couple of transfer walkons, so their loss could be UNC's gain. This year, he was a standout as a wide receiver, Very athletic.

Recruiting guru Tom Lemming says:
Recruiting Notes:

Tom Lemming; I was impressed with Leonard as a run blocker, he shows very good initial strength, uses his hands well, and can move along the line laterally as well as any OL in Northern California. Not yet a dominating LT but shows signs of that kind of potential. As plays tackle and end on defense but is best suited to play either tackle or guard in college.

All-Tribune Second Team Offense
Viliami Koloamatangi Red Mtn. Sr. OL 6-foot-3, 290 pounds and has a mean streak;
Div. I future if he qualifies

Rivals (April 30, 2011):
Viliami Koloamatangi
OL, 6-3/275, Mesa Red Mountain
Koloamatangi is an impressive looking interior offensive line prospect. Very good combination of footwork and hands. While he is listed at 6-foot-3, 275 pounds he will be able to handle more weight and retain his mobility. He earned all-region honors as a junior and picked up an scholarship offer early on from Montana. He also was invited down to Arizona State for an unofficial visit this spring. He should seen more interest as schools make the rounds this spring.

Moving a few guys off our offer/interest list as they have committed elsewhere :

Isaiah Claypool - Arizona Western Junior College, Football
Robbie Painter, Grandview to Eastern Washington.
Richard Mbugua of Highlands Ranch to CSU as a prefered walk on
Thomas Shephard of Denver South to New Mexico State
Morgan Fox, Fountain/Fort Carson, to CSU-Pueblo.

Still waiting to hear status update on:

Addition on Sevrin Remmo who visited this weekend.

Remmo mentioned that Northern Colorado can offer him something that no other schools can.

"I thought it was pretty cool because my brother is up there. I could have a chance to play with him. I feel that the program is starting to turn around quite a bit. I'm pretty excited."

Did not make the connection earlier ...
This is the younger brother of TE Christian Remmo

FWIW, Remmo remains undecided and UNC is still on his list.

He had a lot of late interest and coach contact (the week before LOI) and a few schools may have encouraged him to wait until they had their final classes to see if they had a spot open. If he spends his time considering all his options and chooses UNC when all is said and done, he'll be a great addition to the class.

Remmo:
"I went to Air Force last Wednesday and it was pretty nice as well. I'm still apprehensive about the military portion but they have a great football program. I'm supposed to talk to the Stanford coach this week. My coach told me that BYU is looking for a d-tackle and I'm next on their list after a juco transfer."
Remmo also had a chance to recently see Northern Colorado on an official trip. "I liked it a lot. They obviously have a great coaching staff and they a good strength coach. They seem to be turning things around nicely up there."

Wow, he must be a wicked smart kid to be on the radar of those other schools. Hope he decides to come to Greeley.

Willie Fletcher, who had two offers on signing day (UNC and Southwest Oklahoma), took his only official visit to Greeley, held out for a BCS offer and was rewarded by CAL on Friday. Apparently they had been in contact, and told him if they didn't get another player they wanted, they'd offer Fletcher. And they did.

On the bright side, at least we are losing some of our interested recruits to highly ranked schools. And apparently, our coaches are able to spot talent.

No worries. He'll transfer in next year.

couple of odds and ends.

added to BEARS commit list:

• 6-foot-6, 225 pound Pomona defensive end Toran Huwa was a first-year starter this season, but college coaches have been flocking to see him at school. "It has been Doane (Neb.), Adams State, CSU-Pueblo, UNC, and Fort Hayes (Kan.)," he said.

Kitching, Parker OT .... CO- Castle View (Sedalia)... 6'4" 290
• Castle View offensive lineman Parker Kitching has the size that college coaches desire, and that has opened the door in terms of recruiting. "It is CSU-Pueblo, Concordia in Nebraska, Hastings, and (Northern Colorado). Those are my four right now."

Koloamatangi, Viliami OL .... AZ-Red Mountain (Mesa) ... 6'3" 275 .... offers Montana Grizzlies
