We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Recuriting Class

Na I don't have a subscription to scout, I'll try and see if I can find anything else, else where.

edit:
Here's a highlight video, looks like he does a little big of everything.

There's a little blip on him on this website too.

Here's a another highlight video of him, better quality of video.

He's number 8, in the videos.

Thanks for the research Bf24. Looks like Peoples has good hands and gets to the edge pretty well. I guess with Lutz graduating they may use him on kick-off and punt returns. UNC certainly seems deep at the WR position with Gunn and Smith coming back and the emergence of Walker (had an excellent season in 09) McDonald, Morris, Davis etc. Now we just have to be able to get them the ball.
I'm personally going to miss Alex Thompson. He was a super WR for the Bears. I'll be interested to see if he gets a shot at the pros. He's got the hands and the speed but his size will probably be the issue.

I agree I think we have some pretty good depth at the WR position, all those guys that stepped in because of injury got some good game experience. We definitely need someone for punt returns, Lutz was good, but he wasn't a guy that was going to return it back all the way or get some decent yardage. Thompson was awesome for us this season, guy pretty much caught everything thrown his way. I'd like to see him do something at the next level too, but ya I agree his size isn't the greatest.

According to Rivals a few more teams are interested in Lex Smith. Montana State offered him a scholie during his visit and New Mexico State said they might have a scholie for the man. Let's hope he ends up a Bear!

When I was in school (early 90's) we rarely offered full ride scholarships. Has that changed with the move to the FCS or do they still try to spread the wealth around?

The article on the CSU Rivals site said Lex is coming for an official to Greeley this weekend. You get the last & best chance to make a good impression, so good luck with that. :D

What is the CSU Rivals site?

Thanks for the info on the CSU Rivals site. I don't have a subscription so I was only able to read the little teaser they had on there about Boulder and Ft. Collins showing some late interest in Lex. It should be clear to everyone and perhaps not so clear to Lex that Boulder and Ft. Collins are pulling the same crap with a recruit that they always do if they can. Yeh, they want him if they don't have to pay anything for him. They'll try to keep him on the hook until they see if they can get who they really want. They'll offer a preferred walk-on or maybe a gray-shirt to Lex but most likely they won't offer him a scholly. I'm pretty sure that if UNC believes Lex will make a difference on this team they'll offer him a scholarship. From what we all know about UNC they need some really good linemen with size and speed on both offense and defense. Like I've said before, I'd rather go somewhere where they really want me and have shown it by offering me a scholarship than the opportunity at some point in the distant future to maybe or maybe not earn a spot on the team.

Nice! Rivals is a little higher in the kid. They rate him with 2 stars. He was named all-Colorado in '08 and Big 8 defensive player of the year. Also one of the top 15 players in the entire state. Nice job staff! Now coach them up and we'll be on top of the Sky in no time!

From his profile picture on rivals it looks like he has a little swagger. We need that!

Very nice pickup for the Bears.

Daijon Tyler is a good player.

Here's some more information you might like. It's from before this senior season.

http://www.denverpost.com/preps/ci_13231697

His coach says "Madden said Tyler isn't so much a natural athlete as he's a natural linebacker: "He's kind of an enigma. Sometimes he's not as smooth, but his result will be better than someone who is smooth. And he hits better than any kid I've coached."
