Roos Field Renovation

EWU98 & All,
Get me the shovel, and I will be very glad to push that baby in the ground, providing it is dirt and not concrete. ;) Everything seems very positive now, hope it continues. Thanks for the confidence in volunteering me for the 1st Shovel.   Must now save my back. Can't wait until Wednesday noon for Coaches announcement of our new Recruits. I have a "GREAT" feeling of our Recruits. Our Coaches haven't failed us yet. Go Eags!!!!! Vic Wallace

Email sent . . hopefully he get's it. His email is being screened by Judy, but I am sure she will forward it to him.
If that doesn't work we can always try a petition :-)

Go Eagles!

Got my response from Billl . . . .and the seed has been planted.

Has anyone heard anything on the project?
Not that I want a minute to minute update like the Sonics/Kings mess, but it has been over 3 months since I have seen anything new posted or written. Where are we at?

The project in now being reviewed within the University and the State, ( Attorney General )? desiding who is responsible if costs are not right. How are funds catagorized for State and University. You can make up your own list of bureaucratic issues (Insert CYA ) that must be written. The happy news is it is grinding forward.
The option of the 8,000 seat steel bleachers and canvas siding as been dropped.
I know that Castle Burgers is not going to rent space in the facility.
They have not made a decision on waterless women’s urinals yet?
There is talk of several wind generators on the West hill to provide power for the facility, however the Obama green grant has not come through.
And last, I hate spring, It is like a whole half a year before football. The top part of this exercise is what is happening to the project is at the present time.

What? You mean the actual seats themselves?

I am also confused. Maybe it's a residual concussion on a 6 year delay, but I doubt it. Care to clarify the situation, oh wise one? You've successfully stumped two accredited wordsmiths. :notworthy:

I don;t know if it means anything, but I've been working late this week and seen several missed calls from EWU. That more than likely means they've worked through their list of people with real money and are now down to me.

That reference about the 8k seats came from Ron's post not mine . . MISQUOTE

BAH! Ron, can you clarify please?

Thanks!
Level 9 Junior Wordsmith

I was Just playing with you on the options, the University and State are working on the real project and my comments on parts of the projects were not serious

One more reason to vote you off the island!!
DON'T PLAY WITH OUR EMOTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO THIS!
:coffee:

I am guessing, but i think the notion of dropping the steel bleachers was related to the early images (last Spring) that had a towering aluminum bleacher in the south endzone. Canvas sides was never a part of that plan. That was initially the "student section". The most recent images switched the south endzone from a bleacher to a grass berm seating area. The student section will remain on the west side, hopefully enough students will come to fill up the entire 5,000 seats.

This is bullshhhhit, I just made it up because there was no new news on the Project and no new posting on the football site.
Project is in State and University review. Stop The rest of this is Bullshhhit
The Ladies urinals have not been approved. And White Castle Burgers is not coming to Cheney Plus EWU in not getting wind mills for the water tower. Move on

Haha, i've been getting calls too, but they call my work phone at 8pm when I'm not around and never leave a message, figure its something to do with donating. It might be to renew EAA but I don't think they have had their spring kickoff for that yet...

Hopefully some of the big fish donated as that was the biggest hurdle they were trying to overcome...

Same. They always call well after regular business hours and never leave a message. Therefore, I have no idea who to call back. Plus, I usually just make my donations right off the EAA webpage and set up automatic deductions.

This was just posted on the bookstore's Facebook. It will be open for the first game this fall! It was also made clear that this has nothing to do with the Gateway Project, so I'm trying not to read anything in to it.

Pretty cool though!

It does look like a nice facility but unless it is almost done at this time there is NO WAY it will be ready for this seasons games. Maybe next season.
Remember it would take the University a year just to put up a tent much less build a building.
