At least two of those are pretty prominent players now. Only time will tell if they follow through with it, but if they do it will be a big blow to the depth and talent of this team next year and beyond.

Yeah rumor is is that collins heard through someone else that this player didn't want to play for him anymore. Collins kicked the kid out on the spot. And he's off the team
Wouldn't the right move have been to actually confirm the rumour he heard and have a meeting with the kid. This kind of behavior is why he is having so many issues. If telling someone you dont want toplay forcollins gets youkicked off the team than every kid who has beento my house needs to go. 303bears is your son staying?Brian said:Well, if you are Collins, it's a move you have to make. If you don't, you run the risk of the player causing real havoc in the locker room and making the situation much worse.

Agreed, but when the coach is horrible and team doesn't win, no one will want to take the scholarship.. at that point giving up the scholarship is a better option for some players
I also heard during the meeting yesterday that Collins told the players he is here to stay and this is where he is going to finish his career no matter the situation.

It's not really a privilege to play for Collins and this program at it's current state.
Theres a way you handle that situation, you dont go "I heard you told John who told Juwuan that you don't want to play anymore, you are kicked off the team. No you meet with the kid , one on one, and the discuss the situation. Collins does not give a crap about the players. Steven Miller is in the 5% of that he is nice too, and this is mainly because his Valor roots, and they know they have to keep Steven happy in order to get future recruits from Valor, which is a juggernaut in Colorado as a high school. I dont think people realize how corrupt thngs are in the program and BigBearFAN76 can second that.
PlayerParent said:Like I said in a previous post, some of you guys can hang around and support the wrong man for the job and program all you want. Apparently, there are those who are content with being less than mediocre and underachieve in addition to setting bad examples of how to take accountability as a man. Perhaps, that's the life those that support Collins and his philosophy lead their lives and that's cool...to each his own. What I do know is if you are not a part of the solution, then you are part of the problem.
My so has chosen to give up his scholarship and move forward as a walk on at another University. So long UNC Football, best of luck to you!

Is that what happened or is that just speculation? If that's how it happened then that is horrific but there has to be more to the story. Is it just 1 or 2 kids leaving or is it bigger than that? Right now, as a fan, the sky has fallen but I am not sure what the real vibe in the locker room is.
