The Big Suck

Conference is now 1-15 vs D-1. Only win is MSU beating Louisiana-Lafayette by 1 in Bozeman.
A lot of 'big money' games, on the road. Winning any of those games would have been an upset. MSU won the game that should have been won. Some of those games were closer than I thought they would be, but I didn't expect any wins. I guess your point is that there should be more upsets happening. We can hope, I guess.

I watched Eastern and Northwestern last night and the Eagles looked pretty good. Bliznyuke had 20 points in the first half and Wiley, the kid who started his career at Montana, looked impressive.
But this is the time of the year when we cue the annual self-flagellation -- the Big Sky is what is: a one-bid, one-and-done league that gets lucky every 10 or 15 years and wins a post season game.

6-9-1 against the spread. Were favored in two games, Wyo @ Um and La Lafayette @ MSU. Wyo beats UM and MSU wins but doesn't cover.

Do you really think the results would have been substantially different if all of these games had been played on Big Sky courts?

You cant say that there wouldn't be a chance, hell do you think UNI would have beaten North Carolina if they had played in Carolina last year? I don't. The game instead was played in Cedar Falls and the Panthers won.

There might not have been a substantial difference, but it doesn't eliminate the possibility.

This conference is heading to the very bottom of D1 basketball. We need to either split the conf. into divisions, or seek a new conference. Its nearly as pathetic as Rahe's OOC record. There needs to be change. We might just want to drop to D2, as we wont have any issues scheduling Antelope Valley, Bristol, Multanomah, Southern Baptist, etc.

If that will stop the whining I'm all for it.

Wow, the Big Sky really stinks. I'm thinking the WAC is better. We are the worst in the West. PAC-12, MW, WCC, Big West, WAC, and the Sky. If we added the Summit they would probably be before the Big West. This hurts! Definitely doesn't help us get home games.

Montana 72 vs N Carolina St (-8.5) 85

Idaho St 51 @ Utah St (-11.5) 85
Northern Colorado 72 @ Santa Clara (-10.5) 88

YEP, the Sky is definitely a "puddle"again, even more so this year than in other years. And so many are satisfied with being the 10 pound bass in a pool full of minnows and one bream!

LET'S RAISE OUR SIGHT!!!

Who do you want to raise their sights the 10 pound bass or the minnows?

Baller, I agree with what you are saying. The Big Sky is bad and it isn't helping Weber in the slightest. I still have some hope, look at the WCC. Gonzaga's success has helped to pull the WCC from a crap conference to one that garners regional affinity. The issue is, most schools are going to invest in one or two sports. In the Sky everyone wants to see football grow and rightfully so. In the FCS, Big Sky Football is highly respected. After football everyone then picks another sport that helps them uniquely; look at NAU, they just won the National Championship in Cross Country. I think Men's Basketball is important, but isn't necessarily a priority for most schools. Weber...it is the priority. Weber can help itself by winning OOC games (neutral and home are musts), taking care of business in conference, winning post-season games, and really building the fan base. One thing I think is a must is to generate revenue. Weber must make more money if it ever wants to be more than what it is now. Facilities are great and we know they will get better and continue to be improved and developed, but think of what they would be if we could make more $$$. That to me should be a major concern for our AD.

For comparison, through games of 11/20, the WAC is 9-15, 6-1-0 ATS.

NAU 55 @ 8th ranked Arizona (-33) 71
