Now that we know Sperbeck's job is secure the focus needs to be the two obvious weak areas of the program, defense and special teams.
Well since we know his previous contract extension was through 2012, this current one was probably a 3 year extension offered sometime during or immediately following the 2012 season. So what has Sperbeck done to garner another extension on top of his current one? Answer: absolutely nothing.OldSchoolHornet said:Yo, numbers guy...how does Sperbeck having two years left on his last contract change anything about an impending 3 year extension?

It's obvious to me you don't actually know anyone involved in the day-to-day operations of the athletic department and you count solely on what you read and try to pass it off as knowledge. From your perspective if you don't read about it, it didn't happen.

Nope, I have yet to see any contract info released which is why that has been a repeated question in this board. Nothing concrete was know until GCM posted that link from the Bee this morning. Had we known, my guess is this thread is nowhere near as long as it is now. And I don't expect to see releases on raises, however I expect to see releases on contract extensions. We saw one for Katz, we saw one for Christiansen, and I'll be waiting for the 3-5 year extension announcement for Sperbeck. :lol:OldSchoolHornet said:Do you remember reading about the last extension or when the $80K+ raises happened?
OldSchoolHornet said:Steve Roberson was fired today. Sperbeck has already started to purge his staff in an effort to save himself.
But I'm sure you guys already knew had that info.

OldSchoolHornet said:For someone who counts solely on the written word for information you should learn to read better. I was asking you about the last extension, not the impending one...unless in your infinite wisdom you thought his first contract was for seven years. I guess it was convenient for you to ignore the question about the $80K raise.
You obviously hate it when I pull back the curtain and show these guys your 6000 posts don't mean a thing. You are just posting wild-ass guesses as if you have actual insight.
I'll make you a lil' bet and we'll see who the back peddler is...
If I'm right about the extension (and I never predicted a major press release, it will just happen)...you never post again. If I'm wrong...I'll go away forever and you can go back to trying to be the wizard without being constantly exposed.
I can hardly wait to see what excuse you use to get out of this wager.
