In the 1st half it seemed we were getting pushed around on both sides of the ball. Every snap seemed like an automatic 3-5 yd gain, then something changed in the second and our defense took control.kalm said:luckyintheorder said:Team left it all on the field. Great win for a myriad of reasons. Thought the defense was starting to step up a bit, multiple 3 and outs for the Eag offense made the defenses job tougher. Using the ESPN euphemism "eye test", Eastern looked like a good very much the superior team.
Still wondering if there was any reason this game was close?
Those who thought the game would be close, were right? Don't think it was for the reason most often stated, i.e. ball control by CP; more like lack of control by Eag offense. Anyone concerned?
It was a weird game. Zero turnovers, they dominate TOP and total yardage. They should have won. I'm a little concerned with offesnsive productivity and as concerned as ever with how we get dominated up front on D. If Raynes doesn't play, I'm not sure we win that game.
Still, Poly has a good D and they put up close to those yardage numbers on everyone.
I honestly believe that MOTHER NATURE played a huge reason for the closeness of the game. 25MPH gust makes it very difficult to go down field.luckyintheorder said:Team left it all on the field. I was told by "someone of authority" the only game they will bus to is Msla. That was on the Iowa trip as I recall but should still be the same info.Vic E. Wallace said:clawman,
Do you know if the team is going Chartered Friday? Saturday was a very long day for us, we went from the football Game to the Women Volley Ball Game at 6 p.m, another great crowd. They defeated both Sac State 3-1 and Portland St last week, which put the team at 6-0, we are in 1st place in our bracket. They will be in Bozeman Thursday, and in Missoula on Saturday. Take care. Vic

A lot of good feedback on this. I suppose winds could cause some issues, my struggle with that is it is always windy in Cheney, the team lives in it, practices in it and plays in it. West's arm is certainly strong enough to throw in it. No issues with wind in the Pocatello dome this week.

We seemed to throw it just as well if not better against the win as with it but the point about stretching the field and bringing their safeties up is a valid one.

Eastern Washington showed the heart that it always has. If anyone has the ability to put a recording online, I would greatly appreciate it.
Vic, you are correct. They landed in Salt Lake about 8am and are bussing it north. Will spend the night in Salt Lake and fly out Sunday morning. Hope you get feeling better.Vic E. Wallace said:clawman
Found out team will be leaving Campus Friday 4:30 a.m. They will be going Delta Commercial. Guess they might be going into Utah, then bus to Pocatello. I heard once before there are no airports in that area. . Missed two days of Practices already, here is hoping I can make it tomorrow. Still feeling kind of tired, and still coughing very hard. Soreness of Ribs is getting a little better. I've been drinking/pissing more than an Elephant . Just have to take care of myself. Chris is also sick, she just wouldn't stay home from work, she has been working for DSHS 16 years Aug. 1st, 15. Take care! Vic Wallace
