It started out so beautiful, then he says taking Kupp on day one is a mistake. Really!? Show me 3 better WRs in the draft better than Kupp. He and Gubrud dropped large, log shaped turds on WSU's heads. Why the draft hate?

Yeah, I was a little perplexed by that as well. The author listed focus drops as a downside... while I don't have numbers to back it up, I'd wager he has less drops than 90% of the WRs in this draft class.

I also agree with this. He claimed that he "drops them for no reason", but those throws weren't what I would call easy grabs.

Also the second fastest time in all the the Senior Bowl, they did not say who beat him on the south squad.
He was the fastest of all wide outs and the 4 fastest were on the north squad.
He was back receiving kicks at Wed. practice.

Fastest times at the Senior Bowl yet is still frequently described as having "deceptive speed." :shake:

I think we all know why that is.

Uhhh, color me naive but why is that?

The same kind of comments have been made about Cody McCaffrey and other elite college football players who happen to be white.

Subconscious racial stereotypes.

:D If I had to put a top 3, I think it's Philadelphia, Dallas, Saints.

Article/blog post written by Coop regarding his experience thus far on his journey going pro: http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/nfl-draft-cooper-kupp-ben-roethlisberger-jared-goff-carson-wentz-022117

And from his Senior Bowl week, if you haven't read it:

To All,
Saw on NFL C on Tues a.m. 01:45, the top 5 Wide Receivers, Cooper Kupp was # 4. Also on The Mock Draft there was 3 WR Coop was not shown. I am just really hoping Coop go in the 1st or 2nd rd. My worries are how the draft have been treating our Athletes, they seem to look down on our little University. Look at Brandon Kaufman still out here hoping for something good. I just put all this in the Hands in the man above, and hope Coop get his chance. LA Rams, Cooper Kupp is available. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:      Go Eagles!!!!! Vic E. Wallace

Coop taken in the first round. Bank it.

Surprisingly, I agree with you  .

I think he's going to test better than most of the "experts" expect. Plus the guy has all the intangibles in the world.

I can see it happening, but I really have to see his combine results. I thought Kaufman was going to do well (not as well as I think Kupp will, but still). Then Brandon posted that snail paced 40 time.

Stop jinxing this shit with that kind of talk.

The bottom line for Coop is whether he can break the 4.5 mark in the 40. If he rubs sub 4.5, his floor will be around early-mid second round, with a possible ceiling of the bottom of round one. If he runs 4.5 plus, he will top out in the mid to late second round and have a floor in rounds 3-4.

The 40 yard dash for most positions doesn't truly mean jack shit. For DB's and WR's however, it does carry a lot of stock, especially in today's NFL. Brandon Kaufman (4.67) is a perfect example of this. If he would've ran 4.5 or below, he gets drafted, no question. To put Kaufman's time in perspective, Los Angeles Rams DL Aaron Donald ran a 4.68 40 in 2014 at 6'1" and 285 lbs.

That's super quick for a fat dude.

Yeah, but Aaron Donald is an absolute freak.

I'm gonna go with 4.48-4.51 40, drafted 1st pick of 2nd round NOT to Cleveland, but to Philly who trades up, keeping Coop an Eagle through at least 2020. Bank it. :geek:

Cooper and Kendrick had their measurements done today and they were nearly identical to each other:

Kupp: 6'1", 204 lbs., 9 1/2" hands.
Bourne: 6'1", 203 lbs., 9 1/8" hands.

A couple sites expect Bourne to run a 4.6+ 40, which if he does will almost assuredly see him go undrafted.

Tomorrow the WR's will do psych testing, interviews, media time, and the bench press. Saturday will be position drills and testing.
