Who will draft Cooper Kupp?

On a non-Eastern sidenote, Oklahoma RB Samaje Perine put up 30 (!) reps of 225 lbs. on the bench press today. That's more than all but three lineman at the combine this year. You may recognize Perine as the guy who set the FBS single-game rushing record as a freshman in 2014 against Kansas (427 yards).

Cooper and Kendrick had their measurements done today and they were nearly identical to each other:

Kupp: 6'1", 204 lbs., 9 1/2" hands.
Bourne: 6'1", 203 lbs., 9 1/8" hands.

A couple sites expect Bourne to run a 4.6+ 40, which if he does will almost assuredly see him go undrafted.

Tomorrow the WR's will do psych testing, interviews, media time, and the bench press. Saturday will be position drills and testing.

Kinda surprised Bourne only put up 9 reps on bench. Saw a tweet the other day that Shaq Hill put up 21 reps with his trainers/agency (obviously not at the combine). Coop has yet to go.

Where are you finding this? All I can find say wide receiver results aren't until Saturday.

Psych evals/interviews and & bench were today, 40 and on field workout Saturday. Not sure why Coop's bench hasn't been reported.

Hadn't seen this one before. Beautiful collection of "There goes that man!" clips. #GOAT

Both Cooper and KB posted disappointing times in the 4.6's. To my untrained eye it looked like they both were slow in the first 10 yds.
KB was even slower in his second attempt 4.7
Cooper slowed a little to 4.66
Damn!

That 40 for Kupp will most likely lock him into rounds 2-3. He had an outstanding drill session that seemed to really counteract his time. Bourne's time will also seal his UDFA fate, but his good drill session will also get him an invite to a few training camps.

Coop isn't running better than a 4.5 on his best day. The 4.6 is a little disappointing but I don't think it drops him from second round consideration. A couple analysts have him as their top WR in the class.

Taking off the red glasses, I think Coop falls to the third. He had to get in the 4.5 range to put ease to doubts and he didnt. Fortunately, his other attributes still get him drafted.

I haven't read any of those caveats anywhere and I have been following what people are writing about him pretty closely. I'd be willing to put money down that he's taken in the second round. He has the potential to be a franchise kind of player.

I'd say Kupp is still a top 3 WR in this class, by comparison Jerry Rice ran a 4.7 40
Thank you for posting this. Jerry Rice ran a 4.7 and how did that work out? I'm surprised that nobody has brought up the difference between football speed, and straight line speed with no pads. Kupp has football speed which is much more valuable. He understands how to get in-and-out of breaks and the angles he needs to take as well as anyone. Not only that, Kupp has football toughness and a stiff arm that would make the Incredible Hulk proud. Kupp is just a pure football player and that translates at the next level. Speed alone doesn't win championships. Ask the Raiders about that. The best NFL scouts and franchises understand CONTEXT. That's why I don't believe the smart teams will let him slip out of the 2nd round. Some team that needs a receiver badly in the 1st round is going to pass on him because of the measurables and be kicking themselves in 5 years. Meanwhile, a team that doesn't need a WR as bad will probably draft him because he will be the best "football player" on the board. Those are the teams that win NFL Championships.

go eags!

Yeaaa that sucks for Coop. K. Bourne didn't seem better than Shaq Hill. Hopefully he gets picked up

Jerry Rice didn't run a 4.7. That is a common myth. Rice was in the 4.5 range. Although 40 times aren't everything, they are something. If Coop can't demonstrate break away speed at the event he has specifically been training for for months, then that will hurt his draft position.

Coops cone drill MIGHT rescue him. He did pretty well there.

when you google it says 4.71, but apparently you're right, that was not his time. Found this:http://www.49ers.com/news/article-2/Baalke-Jerry-Rice-Puts-40-yard-Dash-in-Perspective/2263a098-32f5-4926-8768-94ca0606c4e5
The Late Bill Walsh says 4.59, so that's 0.03 secs off Kupps best time. I really think if anyone picks up another wideout after Ross and Williams that isn't Kupp, They will regret it for the rest of their careers.
