I remember reading an article a few weeks back, can't remember if it was written by this Colter guy or not, but it was basically talking about how MSU has displaced Montana in their state as the marquee program. It talked about how MSU has been the winningest program in the Big Sky the past three years by winning 30 games. Only problem is, we've won just as many games in that amount of time (13+6+11) but no mention of that, or the fact that we've won more playoff games and have gone farther than MSU has. So maybe uninformed journalism is just the norm for this guy.

I read that article too, but I believe it was written by Rachac (sp?), so not the same guy. It was an interesting read, but I noticed the same thing you did. MSU is tied with Eastern for the most wins in the last three years, although they have one more Big Sky title than us in that amount of time. Of course, we've also made the semi's or better in 2 of the past 3 years, so...meh.
It was Rachac, and since it was from a Billings reporter, the article was about the 2 Montana schools, I wouldn't expect them to write about EWU. MSU has more BSC wins in the last 3 years than EWU, along with more BSC championships in the same time.

sorry, does no one else have a problem with this Colter Nuenaz character's article that paints our university/region in such a negative light?

Mod Edit - I will try harder not to be a troll on other school's forums.

I seriously doubt BOZO football players are skiing and ice climbing. Now go watch the BBQ cool as we prepare to dominate you again.

I stand corrected so there it is if you want to Ski and Ice climb go to MSU if you want to play in the NFL go to EWU....http://www.goeags.com/sports/m-footbl/2012-13/Releases/12fbJan25KaufmanCombine" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Because this is what our Wr is doing on the weekends.

Any other questions or comments from Bozeman?

the best part was where they talked about Denarius being sacked 6 times and throwing two picks. but we were lucky to win huh?

Please tell me we are looking at this kid. We're going to let ISU pick him up?

sorry, does no one else have a problem with this Colter Nuenaz character's article that paints our university/region in such a negative light? very irresponsible journalism if you ask me, commenting on things like our coaching staff taking interviews which may or may not be true but in the end is nothing more than pure speculation. I know the author is a homer, but this is very irresponsible journalism that I would not expect to come from someone associated with a Big Sky member institution. Very Bush League.

I'm coming late to this party so I have a question after reading the Colter N. article ... Was the last paragraph stating that he had confirmed from Coach B that he had not taken any interviews in the six years he had been at EWU added recently?

“I felt like the coaches were staying. They aren’t going anywhere,” Braun said. “That’s very important to me. I’m not trying to go to a place that gets a new coaching staff after two years that I might not like. Coach (Beau) Baldwin from Eastern, he’s already interviewing with a couple other places. Montana State seems stable.”

Eastern Washington sixth-year head coach Beau Baldwin confirmed to Bobcat Beat that he has not interviewed for any opening since he interviewed for EWU's head position in 2007. Baldwin previously coached at Central Washington University.

Yeah, that wasn't there the other day. Colter must browse here.

Somebody tweeted him that people where giving him some grief around here, so being the reporter that he is, he probably wanted to get some facts checked. Just wondering. Is there a link to any news or interviews with any EWU verbals from any local papers, internet sites, etc.?

Skyler is a BIG player and should land at Wyoming, UNLV, Utah State or others as a kid they can take a chance on. Doesn't mean EWU shouldn't throw a hat in the ring.

Several physical players not seemingly on EWU radar include:

Michael Kluge -- great pad level, quick, non stop motor, great hands and technique, FCS warren sapp type in two years, very strong
http://www.northwestprepreport.com/catching-up-with-michael-kluge

Jake Leary -- really combative attitude, Brandon Kaufman like on defense, strong, needs work on pad level and lower body (only 400 lb on squats)
http://oregonpreps.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1364620

Chris Miedema -- prototypical lineman build, right tackle #77, may need a year or two or move to guard
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6_Lzq0bQD9Y#!

Great gets so far with Jake Gall and Jake Hoffman, love their versatility, football savvy and toughness. Like Tucker and Gamboa. Would love to see Kamana Adriano get on board.

Kamana Adriano -- great routes and hands, creates space with routes, played QB as Jr. Football savvy. Quick. Dare I say Wes Welker type, lots of upside and could play in the return game day one or DB.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzWNao2snaM

Colby Pearson -- Looks like a walk on at Boise. 6' 1", 4.45 40. 3 state championships. Nothing like a winner and high football IQ. Dad played college ball according to source. All you can eat video. Some players you just like.

Deep class for overlooked skill players.

Is Mike Tate really on board?

Seriously. Is he even a real reporter? The one link I hit took me to a BN article he wrote with zero references to any real publication. The articles from "reporters" around here actually come from real journalists/newspaper guys with links to real publications.

Call him whatever you'd like. Email him and ask him what his official title is and a job description. Maybe just leave a comment on Bobcat Beat instead of trying to put the guy down. All I wanted was a link to some articles from some "real" reporters from "real" newspapers for some information on your recruits.

From his twitter page

"Freelance sportswriter living in Southwest Montana. Produce loads of #MSUBobcats content for the Bobcat Beat website, http://bobcatnation.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ."

Do we really only have 6 verbal commitments? At the bball game tonight I was told we had 11 commits of the first 18 visits. Lots of BS floating around, but 6 seems pretty light.

Yes. Northwestprepreport.com is a good source, as well as scout, rivals, espn, etc.

Wasn't there in the original article, which is why people were a little upset about the rumor being published. Nice to see that he corrected it.

Time will tell, I guess. I think it's a soft verbal at this point. I know he and Delondo Tucker visited PSU last weekend, so probably taking all their visits and then making the decision from there. I know Burton is a good recruiter, so I hope we don't lose those guys. Kinda depressing to think that we'd lose recruits to a team that doesn't win a whole lot of games.
