GoldenEagle,
Our Coaches have been out doing a little recruiting already. Don't know what or whom they approached. We have some outstanding Players in the Wings, awaiting their turn to battle for positions. i.e. Cooper Kupp, WR, Nick Lenoue,WR, Keylin Huddleston, WR, Matt Friese, WR, Bowe Merin, QB, Jordan West, QB, Anthony Vitto, QB (didn't get much playing time with Adams/Padron), Ashton Boothroyd, DL. Vic;
Don't be apologetic for writing a "book" as you put it. I ALWAYS like to read your comments and insight. I am curious how the list of players we are losing matches up with a list of red shirt players we have not seen at practices as you have. Do you see any gaps, like at linebackers? We lose some good, no great linebackers, who sill fill those shoes?
Say HI to Chris for me ;)

clawman,
If I am not mistaking, we currently have two Props. Grossmire, (sp) DL, and Jaylen Moore, RB. Both came in earlier this year and were attending classes. Isiah (sp) Jenkins, DB, grades fell ao he was off the team until his grades came up, he then got hurt in practice, so gone for the year. Before I go on, I was so happy to see TJ Lee, on the field against SHSC. Jude Isabel, DB from California, was injured last year, should be ready this year.

I think Wiggins are going to raise hell for our team, providing he stys healthy, as all our Players. I don't want to second guess our Coaches, I will wait and see. I know we will get some great Recruits. We will have Demetrus Bronson,Quincy Forte, Mario Brown, Jabari Wilson, Nick Washburn, Jordan Talley, returning as our Running Backs. Hope Talley got rid of those headaches. He cannot afford any more Concussions. Who will be redshirting, we will have to wait and see. I just hope all our Recruits comes back, we got some GREAT Athletes last year.   Well got to get ready for the Women BB Game at 2:05pm, see you there. "HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL". Stay "SOBER" ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Vic Wallace, Happy to have met and know all of you. Let us all hope for a "GREATER YEAR 2013".

I'm excited to see all these young kids on the field. The last couple of recruiting classes we've gotten some monsters. Wiggins is 6'4", but currently listed as a DB. That's a big corner. Wonder if they'll switch him over to the offensive side of the ball. I hope the Prop Gossmeyer sees the field next year, the coaches were real big on him last year during recruiting. Maybe he and the younger Pulu will step in as impact LB's? Although I think even with the departures we still have a lot of talent in that position.

Wiggins was recruited as a DB. I think that's where they want him. I know we have a tradition of great receivers now at Eastern, but more often than not, a good DB is a more valuable player than a good WR. I hope the bulk of our newer talent winds up on defense.

Miquiyah Zamora (RFS) was moved to LB in Fall drills.
Bowe Merin, (RFS) QB, left the team before the semi-final game.

Any idea of who's going to step up the pass rush next season with Ceja gone? I love that we have these young guys in the wings. Wiggins was a pretty big time recruit (3 star with D1 offers I think) so I'm itching to see him on the field as well. Happy holidays everybody

sunday,
Sorry to hear Bowe Merin had left the team. I spoke to him a few times during practices, he stated he love it here, and he was just 18 years old, and was going to Redshirt, and gain some more experience. Look for
David Gaylord, Jakob Pugsley, they will give QBs hell. I am sure we will have more as the year moves on.

I am also waiting to see Cedric Gonzalez, LB, Ashton Boothroyd, DL, Joe Hunt,DL, Jordon Downing, LB, Anthony Lira, DL, Jordon Pulu, DL, Charles Redd, 2nd, DB, Diamonte Wiggins, DB, Zach Wimberly, DL, & Miquiyah Zamora, LB, get their time on the field. Iove their work ethic. What I saw during the practices, they are going to fill in great, this depends on who returns. Hope Anthony Larry gets his grades up, he could be another QB Pass Rusher. "Happy New Year" to all, and their FAMILIES. Vic Wallace

talon38,
Looked for you at the last game, couldn't find you in your seating area. Here is wishing you and your family a "Belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New year". Hope you got a chance to stay home with the family, and not in that Commercial AC, flying in and out of Japan, etc.

Make sure Jase doesn't come back to heavy. ;) ;) ;) When is he due back here to start lifting etc? Hope you had the opportunity to stay with the family for the holidays, and not in that Commercial AC flying to Japan, etc.
Remembered when him and Evan came in on that Friday, watch the practice, and the Scrimmage on Saturday. Evan have turned out to be an "Outstanding Defensive Lineman". Wish them Happy Holidays from myself and family.

Any rumors about Recruits from the West Side? Had a great Christmas, very thankful for another Christmas/New Year with my Children, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren. It seems it is all we look forward to each year. Spend all the money, the holidays come and gone so damn fast. I must say I am always happy to wake up each, and thank the man above for giving me another day on this earth.

Also very thankful for meeting all the friends here on this blog, and in person. Take care. See you sometime this year. Vic Wallace

Too bad about the Merin kid, but maybe he saw the writing on the wall, as I think we are set at QB for the next three years. In 2013 Padron and Adams most likely competing again, and then Adams most likely the lone starter in 2014 and 2015. I also think we had another Qb Rsing this season, so we are pretty set there.

What's your take on us recruiting QB's who look at the current situation and see that we are probably set at that position for the next 3 years? Does it diminish us getting top quality players at that position?

sunday,
We presently have 4 QBs left, they are, Vernon Adams, Kyle Padron, Anthony Vitto, Jordan West FR, 6'4" from Liberty High, Maple Valley, WA, and he looks very good in practice last year. Here is hoping we doesn't lose many of our Recruit fm last year, we have some talent in this group. That is my Opinion, the Coaches are the ones that makes the final decision, and their decisions, I will live with.

ps. another Player that will give Quarterbacks hell, will be Evan Day, he look great as a Freshman, and he gets better each game. If his # doesn't changed, it will be #90, this young man raised hell most of the year. Zach Chapman another DL that will help in the middle from Mountain View HS, Vancouver, WA. David Gaylord, DL, hope he stays healthy. Vic Wallace

Any recent news on recruiting? With the season over I imagine the staff has been hitting the recruiting trail pretty hard.

DefendtheRed,
Spoke to one of our Kickers on Saturday during our Women BB Game, which we lost by 13 points, to Montana State Univ., he haven't heard anything about recruits, Padron, or Kaufman leaving. He only know that come Monday Morning, Freshmen will be out getting ready for conditioning, other Players comes in later that day. Here is hoping both Padron and Kaufman returns. Should any of them leave, I will wish them the "BEST OF LUCK". They have both done wonders for our University, Team and themselves.

NDSU, won the Championship. That is the team we defeated in overtime on the way to 2010 FCS Championship. The past two years I have been I hoping they win everything, since we were not in it. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Looks like Sammie Long, 6'4 190 WR from Lakes HS is set to visit on the 18th of this month. I think this kid fits the mold of what we need to recruit at WR. Also has an offer from Montana, and it looks like Idaho and Colorado State are also in the mix along with a few other FBS schools.

Mike Tate, a 6'1" WR out of Federal Way will be visiting on the 11th, as will Nic Sblendario, a 6' WR/Safety from Skyline HS, and Blake Braun, a 6'3" OLB from Redlands, CA.

Do you mean Sammy Long? The profile you attached says he is reluctant to take a hit. If he is contact shy in HS he is going to have alligator arms for 5 years at the college level.
