Looks like Sammie Ball, 6'4 190 WR from Lakes HS is set to visit on the 18th of this month. I think this kid fits the mold of what we need to recruit at WR. Also has an offer from Montana, and it looks like Idaho and Colorado State are also in the mix along with a few other FBS schools.

Mike Tate, a 6'1" WR out of Federal Way will be visiting on the 11th, as will Nic Sblendario, a 6' WR/Safety from Skyline HS, and Blake Braun, a 6'3" OLB from Redlands, CA.

Do you mean Sammy Long? The profile you attached says he is reluctant to take a hit. If he is contact shy in HS he is going to have alligator arms for 5 years at the college level.

I read that, too. My thought process is that you can work on making a kid a little tougher, but you can't make him taller or considerably faster. We need size and speed at WR. And you're right, it's Sammie Long.

Any word on how this weekends visits went?

Looks like you got Tate, Havili, and Braun.

Thanks, any links? I did just see on Twitter that Braun did commit. The other two are really nice pickups as well. :thumb:

*Edit - Just saw on twitter all three Federal Way kids (Tucker, Havili, Tate) committed over the weekend, in addition to Braun from Cali. Big weekend, I'll see what else I dig up.

Just watched the video on Havili. Not the fastest, but has excellent change in direction for his size. I wonder if they are going put some more muscle on him and move him to DE?

I'm kind of surprised how few bigs we have offers out to. As we all know it is interesting to evaluate the skill players but the big guys are the core of any teams success. How are last years recruits doing? Since we do not get a look at the red shirt guys we don't equate a successful recruiting class until a couple of years down the road. How is the cupboard stocked as far as offensive and defensive linemen are concerned?

Treshawn Favors, Arizona running back has orally committed to Montana.

Rivals lists Julian Yearwood, 6-1 230 LB from Mt San Jacinto CC in California as having an offer from EWU.

Well, everything that's been posted on here is just stuff grabbed off of the various recruiting sites, twitters, etc. etc. There may be more offers out there, but, to me it looks like the real focus on this year's class has been on skill position guys (Primarily WR) and LB. If you look at the past couple of recruiting classes, they were pretty heavy on O-Lineman. We also only lost 1 O-Lineman to graduation (Post). So, I personally think we will sign only 1 or 2 O-Lineman in this class. The kid from West Salem would be a good get.

We did lose three starters on the defensive line, so I would think that would be somewhat a priority, but remember that sometimes these kids are recruited as athletes and project at a different position in college. Ena was a LB in HS, played DE mostly in college. Same thing with Jordan Pulu, looks like he will play DE. In my mind the biggest issue with next year's team will depth at DT, but I don't think that gets solved this recruiting class unless we bring in a transfer or JC kid.
