2015 Recruiting - 18 Verbals - Updated 2/3

During the season the topic is generally about how bad the defense is and they better step up or else.
During recruiting season the subject is focused on offensive players and how they might contribute.

Agreed clawman. However, I think we are going to reap the rewards of the recruitment of talented and athletic defensive players the past three years.

Really not worth a response.

I also posted this in the "QB" thread, but QB prospect K. Johnson did NOT visit UCONN yesterday. Not sure who's got the edge on him now. Being actively recruited by UTEP, New Mexico, New Mexico St., and of course EWU. EWU staff visited him earlier this week for an in home talk.

This is just OUTSTANDING!

Great news and I think he's ours!

GROUND&POUND,
Heard the same thing, that one of our Coaches was going on a "Home Visit" with K. Johnson. We have 4 great Quarter Backs on board right now, he will be greatly welcomed should he come to EWU. Remember there are some great Universities ahead of us that is also interested. In two days we will find out who we have coming as our Recruits, can't wait. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Good news.

Saw approximatel7 8 Players running the steps in Reece Court. @72 Aaron Neary, OL, #73 T.J Boatright, OL, #70 Matt Meyer, #75 Spencer Blackburn, OL, #2 Jabari Wilson, RB, #88 Terence Grady, WR, and another his name slips my mind. They spent approximately 45 minutes running, and I got tired for them, ;) ;) ;), I was just sitting and observing. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: That was very tiresome    . Got some news, Vernon is working out with some of the Players. After reading the Oregon News Paper, the Coaches didn't promise Vernon a Starting Job, he could be out in the cold, looking in. I still hope for the best for him. Wednesday is coming sooner than we know. Vic Wallace

Here's an article on this year's recruiting class so far from SR's Jim Allen. Not too much information that hasn't been posted on this forum.

Here's Kavika Johnson's HUDL highlights from his Senior year. He only took two visits, one to EWU and one to UTEP. UCONN sources state "going in another direction".

Whoa! That was a very good highlight real. He absolutely nailed some very difficult throws. I wonder if he is just being overlooked, or if there is something significant that the highlights are leaving out?

Did some reading up on this young man the other day and it would appear that New Mexico doesn't produce a lot of Division I players and as such it's not worth it for a lot of programs to recruit down there. Colleges down there may be able to go to a town and scout out 5-10 players in Texas as opposed to going down to NM and only being able to check out 1 or 2.

Thanks, hadn't seen this one yet. Dude's definitely a baller...really hope we can land this kid. That along with some other good news on NLI day and of course Baldwin's new contract would really make this whole VA business a lot easier to swallow.

To All,
The day we have been looking forward to, Feb 4th, Noon. I will have to miss this one, the 1st one ever. Came home last night from WBB Practice, came down with "Strep Throat, couldn't sleep all night. Will stay home so no one catches what I have, it isn't nice. Pains all over and sore throat. Will make sure my daughter get there, and my buddy will bring her home for me. Sorry I cannot get there, this bod is not what it used to be ;) . Wishing our plate runs over with Outstanding Recruits. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Squalicum (Bellingham, Wash.) QB Christian Jorgensen has committed to Eastern Washington. Really faster riser, big future.

Get well Vic. I look forward to meeting you someday at a Football function!

Thats a bummer Vic.
We'll miss you but I'm sure you will watch the signing in the morning on the fancy big screen TV of yours. The on-line broadcast starts @ 8am with Larry Weir hosting.

There's your QB. Makes me think KJ may have given a verbal to UTEP, unless Jorgensen is a walk on or a partial.

247 Sports does projections on players...right now he's "100 percent" projected to sign with UTEP. Don't know how much validity there is in that, though.

Update - K. Johnson committed to UTEP. The late QB verbal we had makes sense now.
