2016/17 schedule

My guess is that they are waiting till after a contract with a P5 school gets finalized, there are several Pac 12 schools who have also not released their schedules. There is a good chance we will be playing one of them this year since we did not play a P5 school last year.

Wow, I was right at least to some extent.

I have heard that Weber is playing USU around Christmas, which is something I really like. Last year, if we would have played them later, we probably would have beaten them. Also, their students are all going to be gone for the Holidays. :)

By the way, nice job Wildcat!! P5 Standford. I just might want to go to that game. If I do, Sacstate dude, it would be great to make your acquaintance.

Is the fact that the Big Sky website is now showing that our home football games are on KJZZ a foreshadowing that we couldn't pay for any guarantee games for basketball again this year? Last year once we struck out on our below average guarantee offers, we paid KJZZ to cover our games.

If what listed is correct, we have up to 6 more games to fill. Still would like to see us play Tinks and OSU. No matter how good, I only want to see D1 teams come to the DEE.

Not going to happen. We need to prepare ourselves for another season of Beats of the Dee Tour. This will run through Ogden, from November to late December. But, you are right, if our games are on TV again, then that is a sign that the home OOC is going to be rough.

I'm still waiting to hear who our 11 game will be against in football for next year. I'm hoping for another home DI game, but preparing myself for a DII or worse.

Then how in the hell are we "following the Gonzaga model"? Bringing in this crap is watering down our product. We are the best school in our conference and garbage NAIA schools is the best we can do?

Good grief, what a terrible home schedule. Why the hell do I as a fan even bother anymore? :ohno:
Play whomever you want on the road but that home schedule is total CRAP! :wall:

“We try to get ahead of the game and think if we do, we'll get some teams that will want to come here and play,” Rahe said. “It just doesn't happen. Scheduling is probably the hardest job we have.

“If you've had a little success, teams will not come here and play. We've tried everybody. I could show you a list of everybody we've contacted, and it's a legal pad full of names and numbers.”
And yet somehow Montana gets to host Wyoming and San Jose, while WSU gets Denver and Utah Valley...At least we have Antelope Valley U to look forward to again.. and the always tough West Coast Baptist Squad. :wtf:

As fans, how can we not just laugh at this schedule?

To start the season, on a Friday night, we are playing the University of Antelope Valley. An NAIA school? WTF!!

I don't care about Rahe's feud with Judkins of Dixie. Damnit, play them! At least you will generate some interest and be playing against an instate school. Also, they are DII better than NAIA. Or, Ft. Lewis, Adams St, Chadron St, Southern Oregon, Central Washington, or College of Idaho. But no, we are playing the University of Antelope Valley to begin the season.

Don't get me started on West Coast Baptist. Another NAIA school that is in Antelope Valley California!!! Are you telling me that out of 351 other NCAA Division I Basketball Schools you couldn't find 1 to come to Ogden? Or, the 307 NCAA Division II Basketball Schools or the 451 NCAA Division III Schools, you couldn't find 1? No, evidently not, we get another NAIA school from California. Not even Westminster gets a call. At least they are an instate game that can generate some excitement.

I'm sick of playing NAIA schools. THIS IS EMBARRASSING.

I was excited when I heard about the Stanford game. That will be a good test for the team.

The home schedule is frustrating. I know Division II schools that don't have two NAIA schools on their schedule.

 This is on Rahe...it's his doing & with the usual coach's speak...as I said, the beat goes on...

Hope the 9K + empty seats at the Dee staring you in the face at that first exciting OOC home game (vs. Ant. U.) send you a message, Rahe, Bovee & Grua!

Hey, maybe you can ship in some elementary school kids at the game (which is actually good) to fill up the gaps.

By my count, we could be playing 4 more games. That is sort of like the football team choosing to play just 10 games, and then having two of them against Jr. High teams.

Sure doesn't look like the Gonzaga model to me. Looks like the Westminster way of doing things.

Jerry needs to get a handle on this, and soon. :yikes: :shocking: :wtf: :wall:   :willybs: :dunce: :tothehand: :pissed:

29 - total games.

11 - home games

4 - exhibition games

1 - p5 game

6 - quality opponents (season tickets should be about $80)

Over all, a poor effort at building a schedule. However, well within our expectations. The bar is set extremely low. :twocents:

Please, please, please BSC, go to a full 22 game season. S. O. S.!!!!

I'll go to the games vs Denver and UVU, but that's it.

Weber is obviously not trying hard enough.
I'm not pleased with the home schedule either. Black Hills State (exhibition), Antelope Valley, Denver, West Coast Baptist and Utah Valley, might be the weakest non-conference home schedule we've ever had. That being said, real WSU fans go to them ALL anyway. The team still needs us there, even when they are playing against doormats.

I'll still be at the games...but it is getting harder and harder to go to games against extremely sub-par competition. I just can't stomach the West Coast Baptist's anymore. Be a bit more accountable with the schedule and actually try to make improvements. At very least play a division up. Get the NAIA's off the schedule.
