2019 Big Sky Games

Tough schedule for the conference this week, including 1 FBS game and 5 games vs MVFC, 4 of which are on the road. Conference teams are the underdog in all 5 MVFC games. ISU travels to UNI, Weber's next opponent. EWU vs UI is a nonconference game.

WEEK 4

Sat, Sept 21
EWU (-11.5) @ UI
Monmouth @ UM (-23.5)
Norfolk St @ MSU (-27.5)
UCD @ North Dakota St (-25.5) $
South Dakota (-5.5) @ UNC $
NAIA Eastern Oregon @ PSU
ISU @ Northern Iowa (-13.5) $
SUU @ South Dakota St (-28.5) $
NAU @ Illinois St (-10.5) $
Sac St @ FBS Fresno St (-22.5)

So many double digit favorites. Hard to pick an upset here. Maybe NAU?

That would be my upset pick. Hard to believe South Dakota is only a 5.5 favorite at UNC considering that embarrassing effort from UNC last week.

Good showing by conference teams so far today. UCD had a chance at NDSU until they threw an INT deep in their territory under 4 mins left. They actually outgained the bison by a significant margin. ISU leading UNI at the half.

Kinda sucks the possibly best team in the BSC can't get it done vs NDSU; and they're 4-0, AGAIN! The BSC has competed well vs MVC, though.

Idaho State held Northern Iowa to 234 yards and 13 points despite throwing 3 picks. Gives me a bit more confidence for next weekend.

Looking like it may be a rainy evening in Ogden as well.

9-1

In Week 4 the Conference goes 2-5 vs FCS, including going 0-5 vs the MVFC. Conference now 11-7 vs FCS on the season, 0-18 vs FBS, and 7-0 vs Non-D1. 3-6 in MVFC Challenge, with 1 game remaining when UNI visits Weber in Week 5. Only three non-conference games left, one of which is between conference teams (UI @ PSU in Week 7). The other two are UNI @ Weber this week and ISU @ FBS BYU in Week 12.

Out of Conference record through Week 4:
18-25 Overall (15-1 Home, 3-24 Road)
11-7 vs FCS (8-1 Home, 3-6 Road)
0-18 vs FBS (0-18 Road)

Last week, I would never have picked UI over EWU, no matter where the game was played. UI pulled off the big upset.

This week we are going to find out if UI is really that good or if EWU is really that bad. IMHO, the league is much improved this year and the teams are closer in quality than they have been in a while. This week, and next, should start to answer some of the questions.
