August 23rd vs Sam Houston State on ESPN

clawman,
Thanks for everything yesterday, you and your wife are the greatest. The 15 Seniors that showed up along with our "Special Guests" really enjoyed themselves, and everyone made themselves at home. Now I am rewinding for the FB Banquet today at 5 p.m. Again, thanks for all your help, and all you do for our Program. Found out yesterday, we are going to have the Game Day program for Aug. 23, @ 12:30pm kick off. Thanks! Vic Wallace

you should never read egriz.

It's good for comedic value from time to time. They have some really well-grounded posters over there, but it seems it's been over-taken by mouth-breathers the past couple of years.

As for this game - I don't think it will matter much that school hasn't started yet. It will be well attended, most likely in the 10-11k range. But some of that probably depends on how well the game is marketed by the University, and ultimately, local and state media. They need to get on that early. They need to make tickets available early as well. Pretty cool that this game will allow the team to start practice earlier and allow us an additional bye week. I really think it's a win-win-win. Great job by the AD. :thumb:

Vic- am I getting this right? ESPN College Gameday (Corso, et al) will broadcast from Cheney before the game?

Hi Vic;
We were glad to help, it was a really nice time and we enjoyed getting a chance to get to know some of the seniors. Really good guys! Why don't you share the identity of your mystery guests? I was really impressed they came to visit and join the players as I am sure they are very busy with all that is going on. I'll leave that your call.
As far as the EWU vs SHSU game on ESPN2, I would imagine it will really get the Eagle envy fired up on eGriz :lol: :lol: :lol: and well it should because we really are a superior program at this time.

clawman, you mentioned ESPN2. Will the game be on that channel or ESPN?

ESPN1. They need to start marketing this game now. Going to be great media exposure for the progam. I just wish they would move the start time to around 5 or 6 PM.

It will be on ESPN, not ESPN2. Can anyone confirm that College Game Day will broadcast from Cheney? Because that would be AWESOME!!!

In an interview with Chaves on ESPN 700 the other day, they asked him if he has heard anything about the Gameday crew coming to Cheney. Chaves said he hasn't heard anything yet but he'd definitely be looking in to it.

My guess is it wouldn't be scheduled until early or mid summer. I think NDSU only had a week or two notice when Game day went to Fargo. It would definitely be HUGE for the team and community...and hilarious if they came to Cheney before ever going to Pullman :lol:

clawman,
Just came in from snow blowing, I can tell I am not the dude I used to be. These are the days I wished I was back in Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands my little Island home town. :nod: :nod: :nod: , only thing we shoveled down there were sand when you went to the beach. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Well I will release our guests name. "Our Greatest President of Eastern Washington University and his wife", Dr. Arevelo.(sp)They are both awesome persons, along with our Seniors, you and your wife. They both got there the same time some as the Seniors. I think you drove up in the yard about the same time President and his wife got there. I think of our President often, because he is always doing something special for our Students. So I figured he is always doing something for our Students/University,I figured if I can get our President to come to my residence and join our Seniors, would make our day. Glad President and wife came, enjoyed themselves, love the way they both sat with all of us and conducted great conversations. Once I got the reply from his secretary 1 week ago, that really made my day. Here is a President associating with his Players, and the common people. Just like he does at Volley Ball, Basketball and Football, he means a lot to this University, he will be greatly missed. p.s. will bring your "FORK", you forgot it, and that mudda is sharp ;) ;) . The game will be on "ESPN", I am sure it will be HD ;) ;) ;) . So much for my book. Vic Wallace

Vic;
glad you one let everyone know what Dr A does for his students. He and his wife are great folks and a credit to EWU, he has set the bar pretty high for his predecessor.

Spoke to couple of our Props, Friday night,they were in the PUB eating, I had little time before the FB Banquet, so I visited with both of them along with Kendrick Bourne. DJ Martin I explain to him and Keonte White, that their education is #1, Football is secondary. They both reply with "yes sir". Both stated they will be ready this Spring, and they just can't wait for the practices to get started. Both young men seems like great individuals. I see them at every game in Reece Court. About the NCAA Rules, should an Athlete want to transfer, after he or she get off Prop 48 status, he or she must still sit out a year. Don Ross, explained that to me at the Banquet Friday night. Again ones that didn't make the Banquet, missed an Outstanding Football Banquet. We have some very smart Athletes in our program. We found out at the banquet that #66 Ashton Miller got his Bachelor Degree last year, and will be receiving his Masters in Spring. I must relax now, that snow blowing is kicking my A_ _, just think this is supposed to go until 4 am. :x :x :x . Take care! Vic Wallace

GoldenEagle,
I think Keonte White is a CB, not sure. Where ever he plays he will be great at the position. He is very tall and long hands. DJ Martin seems very quiet, wouldn't want to piss him off :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: . He is very well built, and looks like he has softballs in his calves. He is very quiet when talking. Have a great weekend. Vic Wallace

To All,
Spoke to VA and Jordan Tonani today at EWU, he stated he is ready to go this Spring, and his Hips are coming along great. VA stated they will star "Spring Practice on April Fools Day". Both Players can't wait for the season to get started. Students will be going home in about 1 week, for break, and returning to kick off practice in April. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Thanks Vic, after three days of no posts I thought that this site was takenover by the Portland State fan forum. Thank goodness it was not. I so hate this slow time of the year.

I hope the BB team does great this weekend?

EWURanger,
That is a BIG ROGER!!! He was at the Football Banquet, and I saw him at a couple Basketball Games. He came over and spoke to me, he said he is ready to go, but is still rehabbing. He also told me his brother who plays for Saint Louis Rams, had the same break, however, the break for his brother was higher, so he was able to play that same year. Tevin break is lower so it was very hard to heal. April 4th they will be on the field for Spring Practice. Can't wait. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace
