August 23rd vs Sam Houston State on ESPN

I doubt they'll come out any sooner than when single game tickets go on sale, although that date might be earlier this year because of the earlier game.

I'm not sure exactly but I really hope they do a lot to promote this game considering it will be almost a month before school starts. This is an opportunity to showcase the program and the University and I hope the powers that be understand that.

Agreed, anything less than a sell-out for this game would be an utter failure. Gonna try and make it to this one for sure. As to the OP, it seems like single-season tickets go on sale in early summer IIRC.

what a great opportunity for the program to play on the flagship. Has anyone heard when tickets for this game will go on sale?
I wasn't going to say anything until after I got my tickets but here ya go! I already called the ticket office and SHSU tickets will go sale July 11th, that will be about a month earlier than the other single game tickets for the rest of the season. I hope with no students being in school and with the game on TV there will be some kind of extra activities (collage game day) would be nice as an incentive to have fans show up. Maybe a concert (Rolling Stones or Paul McCartney :D ) after the game or Spokane area restaurants have a bite of Spokane activity. Just something extra to add to the festive atmosphere.

I'll be there with both season tickets + 4 singles... Having a game this early works great for my family. I wish we'd open at home in August every year!

browsed through their forum a little tonight, looks like most if their fans are pretty confident coming into Cheney.

In all honesty, if our team was 3-0 against someone, I would be confident going into the game as well.

That said, they are toast come August

Most people go to games to be entertained and there happens to be a sporting event going on. I'd like to see this be an event not just a game.

Car shows bring lots of people, or a rock 'n roll or BLue Grass festival type of event.
The merchants of Cheney would be a big benefactor and should be capitalizing on this weekend.

To All,
Checked with Sports Information Office today reference tickets sale for SHSU. Those tickets will go on sale July 11th. Montana Single game Tickets will go on sale September 12th. I saw someone inquiring on the sale of tickets on some of the threads. Good luck to all. Vic Wallace

After reading a couple of posts here about expanding the weekend festivities to something like a Friday Saturday festival celebrating not just the game but the whole community. Yes Cheney might be a little boring at times! but Cheney has a lot on the plus side. Friendly people and its a relatively safe place for my Daughter to attend school. So throw out some Ideas what you would like to see for activities or what the local merchants could do so you spend your entertainment dollars in Cheney instead of filtering out of the area for dinner and etc. Such as:
Car show
Live music
Street dance
Dinner specials
So lets hear it Just to put a bug in someone ear here is a copy of an E-mail the I sent out to some of the City Council and some in the Athletic dept.

Just a quick note after some discussion on the Red Zone (EWU football forum) http://www.bigskyfans.com/eagles/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2732&start=80" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(posts may 3rd and newer) about the Aug 23rd ESPN Nationally televised between EWU and Texas powerhouse Sam Houston State University.
It was brought up about expanding the festivities and an opportunity for the local merchants to get involved in some form such as a street fair, street dance live music, car show, lunch and dinner specials, etc.
At a slow time of the year when school is not in session there will be what I expect to be a sellout game with people (and Students) coming from out of town to attend the game in Cheney. I know the Holiday Inn will be booked and overflow will probably book rooms in Airway Heights or Spokane. Well why not keep those people in town for dinner and spend their entertainment dollars here in Cheney instead of filtering out of the area. Before a and after the game people will be looking to have fun and why not Let them have it right here in Cheney!!!
After looking at the Cheney Merchants Assoc. webpage there wasn't any contact info. so I'm E-mailing you due to I'm sure you would know who to Fwd. this along to or let me know who and I could pass it along .

Some people say all roads lead to Rome. Those people are wrong. All roads lead to Cheney.

Keeler vs. Baldwin II - With National attention on our doorstep, lets hope we have the same outcome.

I think we absolutely throttle SHSU. They lose a TON of their talent and we bring back almost all of ours. Home game, ESPN, we win this going away. EWU and the Big Sky are due to absolutely throttle SHSU and that will be on 8/23.

I think we win by 20+

This I agree with. We should beat them, and there's a chance we'll lay a beat down on them after the past two seasons. I can't think of a better way to start the season.
