Game day

Weber and Vikings pt. 3

I like our chances in this one, but the Vikings will be ready to take it to us, we need to limit the turnovers, and the Vikings are the best at creating them so no more lazy passes, shoot high percentage shots, and make your freebies. The key to stopping the Vikings is limiting Cameron Forte, and playing good perimeter defense.

Beating a team 3 times in a season is tough, just ask Lehigh, but like I said before I like our chances. Weber is the better team and it's time for Weber to prove it once again.

GO WEBER

Its game day! Lets kick some Viking ASS!!!!

Sure hope Richrdson stays hot thru out this tourney, I like the 3 point shooting, but I kinda wish we would go inside a little more, Portland State outside of Forte doesn't have the bigs to compete with us. Take it inside

Turnovers are low which is helping, plus I think only 2 missed freethrows. Keep it up Weber

Name of the game at this point is win and advance - ugly or not.
Senglin really stepped up at the end scoring 8 of the Cats last 11.
Must say, I've been waiting for a game like this from Richardson and Cannon. 32 points between them on 8-11 from 3 point. And they dished out 9 assists between them. Still, it will be nice to get John back for a bit more depth at the point.

And to have the bench show up when you have 3 games in 3 days (which didn't happen today). Cannon was good in the first half, not so much in the second, especially towards the end. He gets this look in his eyes and does a bit of a chicken without a head impression. I think we really missed John in the second half.

Nice to see Richardson go off, and that answers the question of why you start him that came up a couple of games ago. He can be a huge difference maker, or he can kind of disappear. But you have to see what he's got on each given night.

Hopefully the bad game is now over and a team that shots 58% from the field and 48% from 3's will not turn the ball over so much that it looks like they are trying to lose.

We had a pretty good crowd there. We should have more tomorrow. We got some key people in foul trouble at bad junctures in the game. Most of our BSC officials don't have a clue what good defensive positioning even looks like. They are death on hand checking, but little else. :ohno:

North Dakota 83-49 win over Idaho State, Bengals looked just completely awful, couldn't do anything, sure didn't look like a 4 seed out there.

Weber vs Hawks pt.3 tomorrow, let's get our revenge by eliminating the Hawks from post season play

I'm sure that the students could find the money within their budget if they had the desire. I'm also sure that students could get together and form car pool groups with very little effort. Once again, if they want to do it they could. Some of my best memories from college were the road trips with friends. We had no money, were working part time jobs, and some of us had young families, we got to where we wanted and they were great experiences.

So far, it has been great here in Reno. I would say that this has been a good showing for the first time in Reno. It will only grow from here. :thumb: :thumb:

Or if they weren't working part time or full time in order to pay for school, and they can't afford to take a week off from work to go see a basketball game when they can watch it from home if they are so interested.

Life isn't the same now for college students as it probably was back in your day unfortunately. The one thing I have really noticed about this forum is how out of touch posters sometimes come off as in regards to the lives of current students and what is important to them.

I'll be honest, there's a good chunk of the student population right now that are vocal about how the money that goes to athletics should go to different academic departments instead

We need a complete effort today to beat UND. Joel needs to stay out of foul trouble and dominate the paint like he did when we played them in Ogden. I imagine that we have a much bigger fan base than them, so I hope we can make it like a home game.

Olds, What other fan bases have you seen good numbers from in Reno?

Macools on 25th and Washington will be streaming the game tonight. Lets go support a local business that supports our team.

Why can't wsu afford a student bus to the tourney? We won the reg season and it's spring break.

What? The students/fans of the 2nd closest(time-wise) school to reNO can't/wont travel? Shocker! Just spiff-balling here, but maybe the students/fans are reciprocating the finger that the BSC saluted them with?

Oh, and Olds, "Some of my best memories from college were" attending the BSC tournament at the site of a host SCHOOL, a few of those were "road trips." I could have taken off work, traveled 14 hours RT, and spent some vacation money but no way in hell it was or is going to happen. My oldest boy-- currently a WSU Senior-- probably could have gotten off work and done the same and really would have enjoyed that type of road trip and watching them play again in-person, but he couldn't justify the sacrifices to do it and is also annoyed at the fact they are not hosting.

it was fun to make fun of reno leading up to the event but now watching us in the semifinal vs UND makes me feel sad to see completely empty stands. such an insult and disrespect to the players, coaching staff, to win the reg season and play in front of what looks like the Purple & White game.

if this game was in ogden it would probably have 5k-8k. i can actually count the number of fans in reno. such a waste of a hosting opportunity.

I understand some of the frustrations fans have with this format but as Olds said, the tourney has been a blast and the folks who were able to make it have been shown a damn good basketball tournament...Of course, my highlight was meeting oldrunner and Mrs. oldrunner last night after the Weber game...I hope you enjoyed the River Walk olds...unfortunately, we weren't able to knock off Montana because we couldn't shoot our way out of a wet paper bag last night....I spoke to our school's president and he is wide open to improving the tourney but for the next 2 years, the tourney will be in Reno...He mentioned that Las Vegas is a viable alternative and they will look at any and all bidders...I have especially enjoyed meeting players and fans from around the BigSky in the hotel restaurants, walk-ways, elevators and casino.....everyone I have met are having a good time even if their teams have been eliminated....One thing that has to be considered is the location needs to have enough hotel space to accommodate 24 teams and staffs as well as fans of 24 teams, plus practice facilities for 24 teams also...not a really easy problem to solve....From what I've seen, the largest contingence of fans have been from Weber, Montana and Sac State but other teams have had decent sized fan bases showing up too....by far the smallest contingent of fans was from Portland St. in my opinion but I'm sure tal can straighten me up with his incredible counting abilities from the streams that you can't even read the scores on.....
