To All,
Saw on EWU web, if your check about 08:30 am, tomorrow on Twitter and other you will be able to see who signed with us. I will wait until we get to Northern Quest about noon. Spoke to Cooper Kupp today after weights, he can't wait for Spring Ball. Regardless of what anyone thinks, we will do outstanding with our signees, maybe about 16-18? It is a cold mudda   out there today, supposed to be like this for about 4 days. Good luck tomorrow. Vic Wallace

It was nice to meet you at the luncheon Vic!!!

Nsimba Webster video. Tell me this isn't exciting.... I dare you. Around the thirty sec mark, look familiar? The 6"0' QB passed for 1.945 yards with a 20/4 touchdown to turnover ratio. Nsimba can RUN!!! Rushing for over 1,500 yards with 28 touchdowns. Combined total of 48 TOUCHDOWNS!!! Not in the fold as yet.

It is exciting. Getting to play together for 4-5 years has got to be appealing to these young men...and as exciting for them as it is for us fans in the potential for them to play at EWU. Man, I hope we get these two.

I see QB - Keilan Benjamin did'nt make the list and wasn't on the final list for Portland State (the 2 schools that offerd) could be that on the last day he just didn't make the cut. With EWU getting Nsiimba Webster and Reilly Hennessey they probably felt like they got what they really wanted.
Here in Seattle on KJR radio they have a Husky recruiting show and the 2 guy on that show said really good things about QB - Reilly Hennessey, saying he would be a nice fit at Boise State or Oregon State.

I am very glad Nsimba Webster joined the family. I thought for sure we had lost him to an FBS school. He seems like a good fit to back up, and eventually, take over for Vernon Adams. Him and his brother are an excellent combo for our program. I am excited for the potential of this athlete.

Anything could happen, but I see the Webster brothers as skill position players/DB's. I guess time will tell, but based on everything I have read, I think Hennessey could be the QB of the future. Always interesting to see how these things play out. In 2012, a lot of folks weren't even sold on Adams...and look at him now.

Ha, there are STILL folks not sold on Adams. :ohno:

We have a good stable of running backs coming back this year but the pipe line seems pretty weak after that. Jalen Moore will be with us for a few more years and we hope DJ Martin will be on the field. Are there others that have been red shirting?

Jabari Wilson :thumb:

Edit: Isn't Talley also a sophomore? I know he has been moved to Linebacker. But if need be, I'm sure we can move him back to RB.

air045,
Glad to have met you and others yesterday at the NLI Luncheon :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: . Hope you enjoyed it. We had tables set up for 100 personnel, I noticed they had to bring in extra meals for a few more personnel. I figured we would have gotten 18-19 Recruits, we got 26   :thumb: :thumb:   , that is outstanding. We got some outstanding young men. Now have to wait for Spring practice to commence and check out our Recruits. That is another place you will see a lot of my daughter and myself, we love being on the field greeting our Players. Vic Wallace

clawman,
Running Backs coming back are as follows:1. Quincey Fort, 2. Cody Hecker, 3. Jalen Moore, 4. Jabari Wilson, (DJ Martin ?. I met two others last year, whom, I taught were DJ Martin. I am hoping they come out like they have stated they were this year, just have to wait and see. Both of them looked like they had soft balls in the back of their legs. Here is hoping. Roster should be typed very soon. Vic Wallace

EWU Ranger,
We have a great crop of Quarter Backs. Behind VA, are Jordan West, 6'4" very accurate and strong arm, fm Maple Valley High, Conner Richardson, 6' 2", (South Paw) throws very well, fm Kennedy High , adding Reilly Hennessey this year will make this team very potent at that position. Webster Twins are presently down as WR for Simba, Nzuzi as safety. Could be changed at a later date. Here is happy Spring Practice. Vic Wallace

Vic:

I think Clawman mostly meant to point out that in 2015, Quincy and Heckler will both have graduated. Since there are no running backs in this recruiting class, we will likely have to rely on running backs already on the roster.

???

I don't think he's slated to play QB. I think both Webster's are going to be DBs. That's not to say he wouldn't have an opportunity to do some things offensively, but I don't think that's where he could be best used.

Yeah, I guess I was mislead by his recruiting video being mostly quarterback highlights. I was under the impression that was what he was being recruited for. I really thought he fit the role, but I am no football coach. I am sure Baldwin has much better plans for him. Currently he is signed at WR.

That being said, I'm still glad he is here. At WR, he has the potential to be a breakout player like Shaq Hill.

The way the game is these days, I almost think you should over-recruit DBs like you ought to with DL. You can always convert a fast kid to another position, just like you can convert a big kid to another position. But come hell or high water, you never want to be left playing with a patchwork of DL and DB players. That's about the quickest way a team can be left exposed.

I agree. DBs seem to require skills difficult to detect at the high school level. Being a defensive back takes some incredible football awareness. Very often that skill development doesn't translate into college level football. If you don't over-recruit at this position, you can easily get a DB who is athletic, but doesn't react fast enough to make the big plays. It's almost surreal when you see a good DB who can read the quarterback and his WR at the same time.

Vic, don't forget Mario Brown. He should be a Senior next year.
