Gonzaga guard considering Weber State

I wonder if Coach has anyone else on the radar. I know he might use the open grant, for a 2018 signee, which is great, but why not try and get a graduate transfer for this season. Look what Eastern was able to do with Wiley. He was a very late add. I'm hoping Coach has a plan.

More info on the situation at LBSU. They recently got a commitment from a 3.3 star, 6'7'' wing for the 2018 class and they will be in desperate need of a big man in that class as well. However, if they bring Alberts in, they will be over the 13 grant limit in 2018 and will have to send somebody packing. If they also sign the big man that they need, they will send two players packing. Just looking at their roster, I would think that those two players would be two of the six recruits they signed this year. I'm not saying that it would be hard for them to get rid of guys. I'm just saying that it would lend to the continuing instability at LBSU. I have recently heard their program described as 'a mess'. :coffee:

Olds find a source that has Albert's coming to Ogden... the drama is killing me.
Nobody really knows anything right now. We have room for him and LBSU made room for him. VCU has not been an option for weeks now. VCU considered him at first, but chose to go another way several weeks back. LBSU is a fine institution and is close to his home. I have already pointed out what their situation is for next year and the year after that. I have no idea what their interest in him is or what they might be telling him their plans are. Also, I have already stated what our situation is and what his chances might be here. I have no idea what our coaches may have told him our plans are. I'm fairly sure that we would take him if he were to commit. However, I also know that we are not sitting around waiting on him. We are actively recruiting for that open spot. We will either fill it with a transfer or someone in the 2018 class. I'm sure that LBSU is doing the same. This is how good players end up at D11 and D111 programs every year. :coffee:

So all this hesitation is making me wonder if this kid is really going to be graduated this Summer and eligible to play this next season? I say we bring back George Darling for another year to have another opportunity of a lifetime.

Don't know how reliable this is, but it looks like he may be headed to LBSU.

I would have never guessed.....

Source was talking out of his ass. Alberts set the record straight and over a tweet said he has yet to commit anywhere.

I can only wish that my sources are as accurate as hers. The latest tweet from Bryan said that he has not made a choice yet. I guess the previous tweet from a west coast blogger was misleading. He probably got his info from Fox News.

I know you don't. Just thought I'd give you a little tweak!

For awhile I was doubtful. Got a little research and it became a little hopeful. But I'll admit I've thrown in the interest towel as it's taking so long, it seems silly at this point.

Alberts has become how my wife treats me -- "You really don't care what I think. So stop asking. Just please, please make up your own mind and make a danged decision!"

It looks like his choices have become LBSU, LBSU, or LBSU. Unless, of course he can talk Few into keeping him. VCU moved on over a month ago and it looks like our coaches have moved on as well. I'm not sure what his status is with GU, but he is still on campus and working out with his teammates.

LBSU has two offers out for 2017. Three if you include Alberts. They have about ten offers out for 2018, with one spot projected to be open if Bryan doesn't sign. They have one commitment for 2018 already. It almost looks like LBSU has moved on as well. Bryan doesn't really have many options left. He could always go D11 or NAIA. :coffee:

To me, it seems, he is hoping for a "bigger" program to suddenly come calling. He isn't alone. There are a number of graduate transfers still available. Fact of the matter, he might have played for Gonzaga, this past seasons runner up, but he didn't see the floor all that often. That, along with how he played and associated with players during his visits might have dictated why there aren't a lot of options? From what I know of him, he seems like a really good kid. I just hope he figures things out and makes the best decision for him. It seems as if Weber has indeed decided on other options.

It's official. LBSU it is.
