Just curious usually about this time every underclassman and their grandma are declaring for the draft and yes I have been under a rock . . .with family. Does anyone have confirmation on if he is 100% :thumb: staying or going?

No definites, although I have heard from a couple people that he's most likely playing his Senior year...which is huge.

I have been looking around a bit to see where he would be projected in the draft and everything I have found show him as 7th round or undrafted. I know things can change between now and the draft, but based on those projections I would say Brandon will be back next year.

Once the bowl games are over, most juniors on the fence about leaving early will submit their info to the NFL draft advisory board. The board will then let the player know where they feel they will be drafted and they are pretty spot on. This is what Taiwan did and he was advised he would be a 3-5 round choice, so he left early. I would imagine that Kaufman will do the same. I really hope he stays, but if he is going to be a 3rd or 4th round draft pick, you can't blame him for going after that opportunity.

Not having the in on what GM's think, I always head over to NFLDraftScout.com to check out their rankings. If you're even on the bleep of NFL and even the fringiest of fringy undrafted FA's, they have you ranked regardless of school. They normally have a pretty good ballpark answer as to where guys go in the draft. That being said, they have Brandon ranked as the #20 WR in the 2014 class. The last two drafted receivers at that ranked were Ronald Johnson of USC and Keshawn Martin of Michigan State. Johnson was a 6th rounder and Martin went in the 4th. Both of those guys were pretty good on the BCS level although Johnson was a hyped recruit and may have been a little overrated. So there is at least some perspective. You also have to look at the receivers he'll be up against if he goes this year (2013). It seems to be a down class. Aaron Melette from Elon is ranked 11th and Harper from Kansas State is 10th. I don't see either those guys going in the top 4 rounds. I'm a huge Duck fan and Harper played for them for a year and I followed him afterwards. I think Brandon has more to give to the nfl than Harper. He's bigger and faster that's for sure. Anyways, underclassmen can always request an NFL draft evaluation to see where they might go. The NFL combine always carries a little weight too if you destroy or flop the workout. His decision should be coming soon in my opinion. Hopefully he's back.

Everything i have seen has him being taken around the 7th round if he declares early. That's not high enough to come out in my opinion. His stock would certainly rise given another season of dominating at this level. I'd imagine he would also have a chance of breaking all kinds of records next season if he does return, which has to play a factor. And then of course, you have to factor in the value of getting a degree.

I think I can speak for the entire BSC when I say everyone is hoping he gets some love from the NFL scouts THIS upcoming draft.

Seattle Eagle,
I may be bias, I still say our Wide Receivers, Brandon Kaufman, Nick Edwards, & Greg Heard, were the best in all of FCS. Brandon Kaufman, is in a class by himself. Each year he makes such spectacular catches. I couldn't believe some of those catches he made, he makes them look so easy, once he catches the ball, the speed getting to the end zone is amazing. Here is hoping Kaufman returns. We still have some amazing WRs, coming back this year. Hope all are returning. Vic Wallace

As of today (the 3rd), he has not declared. He has 12 more days to decide... My guess is that he'll stay...

Oh boy sounds like a countdown is coming too me :-)

Dozy is there a website that lists all underclassman who have declared or do you have some inside sources?

I heard rumblings Kauf and Padron are leaving. Kauf should not be a surprise - certainly not what we hoped for, but can't blame him and wish him all the best. Padron is a bit of a stretch, not sure what the thinking is there?

Hope these are rumors. Won't speculate more.

Would not be suprised by Padron leaving knowing that he would have to split time his senior year with Adams probably doesn't sit well. Hope that is incorrect, but would not be shocked.
If I remember right isn't Kaufman done with his degree this year?

I believe he (Kauf) is. It's my understanding he also became engaged over the winter break. Movin' on up?

Ugh...that would be a blow, but I can totally understand if he leaves early, especially if he already graduated.

Hope these are just rumors, but I understand the jump if he goes...

Both. My draft source is NFL guru, Rob Rang, a local school teacher that knows all things NFL draft.

What kind of opportunities would Kyle have leaving Eastern? He only has one year left of eligibility, right? Concerning Kaufman, another year racking up numbers with the same QB and a better line will only increase his stock in the NFL draft.

Padron will be a Senior this next season, and according to NCAA by-laws, he can't transfer unless he's already completed his degree. He's only had 3 years of college to this point, so I don't think he can transfer anyway. Love all these rumors!!

What I'm saying is that a football player with only 1 year of eligibility left can ONLY transfer to any School if that athlete has already completed his undergraduate degree. I don't know what it says about transfering down, like to DII, but I think it's the same rule. I doubt this rumor about Padron is true!
