Through 11/14 (D1 Only)

Overall 7-12 (.368)
Home 1-2 (.333)
Road 3-10 (.230)
Neutral 3-0 (1.000)
ATS 12-6 (.666)

3 road wins already, PSU over Portland, UM over Pitt, and EWU over Stanford. Conference teams went 9-60 (.130) on the road all of last season.

Be careful. You can't let Wildcat see you give another team in the conference props or he will tell you how bad all the teams that they played suck. The reality is that Eastern played Washington tough but lost in the end. They learned that they could compete against a Pac 12 program, then went out and beat Stanford. Playing big programs will help some of these schools come conference time.

Tonight only has one D1 Match up.

Montana @ Penn State - I would love to see the Griz continue there P5 winning streak in the state of Pennsylvania. I think Penn State will be too much to handle. Vegas has the Griz as 12 point under dogs. I think they will make the final score a little closer than that but end up with a loss.

 What a crybaby. What's the matter cant handle a little truth? When Washington and Pittsburgh win 20 games this year get back with me.

Besides I'm only doing what many fans on this forum do when Weber wins games against good competition, claim the other team is simply bad and that we shouldn't put much stock in the win. I guess it's ok for the anti-Rahes to say it but not the other fans.......Kind of a double standard huh?

Heck I remember several fans on here claiming we only won that tourney in Florida a few years ago because of how bad the field was. Don't forget our two wins over Utah State, we only won because they were bad. The real double standard on this forum is that wins for the other teams in this conference are looked at as good wins but Weber's should always have an * next to them.

You play this "lots of fans on here say" and make all of these generalizations. Tell me what I have said Wildcat. You just can't admit that you were wrong about Eastern. They look to be decent. Weber should play more difficult OOC games. It doesn't mean I am a crybaby or ani-Rahe. I am a life long Weber fan that wants to see us progress beyond a 15 or 16 seed. Come call me a cry baby to my face at the next home game.

What was I wrong about? I never said Eastern was mediocre or that they weren't good, I just simply stated that I wasn't ready to give Eastern the Big Sky crown simply because they "hung tough" and lost by 10 to a Washington team that won 2 Pac 12 games last year.....What's so wrong with that?

That was a good win for Eastern last night, lets see if they can keep it up as the year progresses or if the difficulty of their schedules begins to wear on them.

And fyi, Im not calling you a crybaby because you want to see stronger opponents Im calling you a crybaby because you seem offended that I'm not yet ready to have warm fuzzies about Big Sky teams winning games against teams that won a whopping 6 games last year. If that bothers you maybe you should learn to grow some thicker skin :coffee:

As for this argument It's old and I have had my fill, if you want to continue this you'll have to do it on your own.

Yeah, OK.

I couldn't remember
several fans on here claiming we only won that tourney in Florida a few years ago because of how bad the field was.
(probably referring to me and the other anti-Rahe's) so I went back to remember:
Murray State -- http://www.bigskyfans.com/wildcats/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5170&p=49038&hilit=Florida#p49038
Drake -- http://www.bigskyfans.com/wildcats/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5169&hilit=drake
CMichigan -- http://www.bigskyfans.com/wildcats/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5168&p=48959&hilit=Florida#p48959

I sure don't see the slightest hint of downplaying the tournament competition, nor do I see anit-Rahe sentiment. Quite the opposite, actually, Rahe is being appreciated for doing some things out of the ordinary for him and with seemingly great results.

As for
our two wins over Utah State, we only won because they were bad. The real double standard on this forum is that wins for the other teams in this conference are looked at as good wins but Weber's should always have an * next to them.

That's just another exaggerated, over-generalization; forum members just aren't saying or even implying this. My personal take on USU is YES, we have won two in a row and that is awesome, and USU HAS been down these two years. It doesn't lessen my enjoyment for those in-state, OOC wins that I place a lot more importance on than some. It also doesn't change me still being mad as hell that Rahe let a 20-something 2nd half lead get away in the Spectrum after driving up for that one.

I think '02 has some valid points.

Can't really argue with wins against Pitt and Stanford. Any year, those are big wins for the conference. These are wins that'll help the eventual winner. Losses to NAIA teams and playing West Coast Bsptist won't. Though, I understand Rahes reasoning. He wants a final tuneup before a holiday tournament. Get all of his guys some playing time and build confidence and togetherness. Also, you play at home. Only issue, out of the hundreds of teams that make up DII, DIII and NAIA you can't find one? You have to go to the depths of a West Coast Baptist? These are the games that should never be played by a team with the history and tradition of Weber State.

Tonight has a single Big Sky match up.

San Jose State @ SUU - San Josie is a 1 point favorite. Both teams aren't very good so I think I am going to pick the T-birds in this one.

I am just going to make one final comment regarding West Coast Baptist. Any time a D1 program plays a team where it looks as if half of the players haven't hit puberty yet, it isn't a good thing, regardless of how much playing time your freshman get.

Good win by SUU, beat San Jose St by 12.

Through 11/16 (D1 Only)

Overall 8-13 (.380)
Home 2-2 (.500)
Road 3-11 (.214)
Neutral 3-0 (1.000)
ATS 13-7 (.650)

SUU pulled off a commanding win at home against San Jose State.

Tonight will be a night where we see how much better the Big Sky is this year. All teams are on the road or neutral against good competition.

Northern Arizona @ Arizona State - Vegas has the Sundevils at 25 point favorites. I think it success for NAU if they keep it under 20. This will get ugly rather quickly.

Weber State vs. Iona - Our game against Iona last year was a pretty dismal effort. I hope we can win with our inside game. We are four point under dogs. I hope we can pull through and get the W. Look for Iona to run and press us.

Northern Colorado @ Pepperdine - The cubbies are 2 point underdogs. I want to pick them but I am not sure they can get it done on the road. They may be our best hopes for a road win tonight.

Sac State @ San Francisco - The Dons are favored by 12 and I think will have their way with Sac State.

Eastern Washington @ UNLV - The Eagle road show makes a stop in Sin City against UNLV. The Rebels are favored by 12 points at home. Can Eastern take the momentum from their Stanford win and pull another big upset? I think they will come a little short in this contest.

NAU @ ASU -- Agree, this one will probably get ugly at the tip. I would say if it ends up under 30 it will be a NAU success.

WSU vs Iona -- Not sure how I feel about Weber's chances. They haven't played away from the DEE yet and haven't faced what I believe to be a good team either. Weber continues to get a feel for each other, may struggle a bit to shoot the ball, and the defense played against USU I don't feel would be good enough tonight. Hoping for their best effort this season and a W but worried it could be a L.

UNC @ Pepperdine -- don't have a good enough feel for either team to have a guess. It will nice to see how this one plays out before Weber's 12/19 meeting with the Waves, that I cannot attend!

SAC @ SF -- I don't see SAC putting up much of a fight in this one.

EWU @ UNLV -- I watched half the Stanford game and although Eastern did play well I don't believe the Cardinal played that well or had their best team on the floor. I don't see the same scenario playing out in LV and can see a double-digit Rebel win.

Rough night for the conference, going 1-4 (2-3 ATS, UNC and Sac covered). UNC picks up the 4th road win though, winning at Pepperdine.

Through 11/17 (D1 Only)

Overall 9-17 (.346)
Home 2-2 (.500)
Road 4-14 (.222)
Neutral 3-1 (.750)
ATS 15-10 (.600)

We got the win over James Madison. Vegas had us as 4 point under dogs. Another neitral court win is good.

ISU @ Wazzu - Bengals are hanging with them early. Not sure it will last.

Portland State @ UC Riverside - It will be close and I think the Vikings have the chance for the road win.

Montana State @ LA Tech - Might be a double digit win for the bulldogs. Hoping that Frey and Hall put together a great game and sneak a win.

Sam Houston @ Idaho - I look for the Vandals to win big at home. Sam Houston will likely get confused by the shuffle board lines on the gym floor.

BSC goes 3 of 4 last night. I'm recording PSU today and watching later, the 2nd team on our schedule to take on the Dukies this season. Beat down or not, the players gotta love a shot at the best!
