UNC vs. Chadron State

That is exactly where I tailgate, I bring a cooler, BBQ and some chairs. I drink before the game allowing me to spend less on $6 beers.

I like where this conversation is headed. I'm always in for a good tailgate. Plus that may be the only drinking I get to do on the off chance Chadron beats us since I have vowed to pour out every $6 beer served to me if that happens.

Chadron Fan here looking forward to the 2007 season and the game vs UNC. If we come in healthy and confident with a 2-0 start and UNC is beat up across the pond then I think we will have a good chance. The MSU game last year everything went right for us. MSU had 5 turnovers played terrible and we jumped on them early and took them out of their gameplan. If UNC gets on us early and is able to use their depth and size then it will be tough for CSC. If Woodhead starts out hot and gets rolling, good luck. It will all come down to your defensive line IMO, the only way to stop Woodhead is get to him before he can start. I'm not very afraid of the UNC offense as the CSC defense should be very good again next year. Anyway should be fun down in CO! :)

Welcome to the board. If it comes down to our defensive line, then you'll win. Plain and simple. We have very little depth on both sides of the line. This is one game I don't care for. Hinrichs should be fired just for scheduling this game. Go ahead schedule Western State or Mines, not a d2 that will most likely beat us.

When we were a DII team we were not afraid of anyone. We were good, tough and would have taken on any IAA team and fought like hell. Now that that UNC is Division I, Championship Subdivision (I-AA) we are scared to play a DII team?

We really need to get that attitude back. I don't care who we recruit, they need to take the field like they own it.

Exactly, this is a proud program, and it is time to turn the corner.

Yeah I agree, there should never be a time where we are worried about an RMAC team, it's pathetic.

That gives some indication on how far below the level this team was at only 5 years ago. There was never a point until now that I've followed UNC football (since 1988) that we ever thought of the RMAC as anything other than a collection of teams we'd beat by 7 touchdowns... now we are worried about getting blown out at home by one. It's embarrassing actually.

Chadron last year and probably this year is not like any RMAC team before. Great defense, talent on offense and good special teams. That being said, I don't think anyone should be worried about you getting blown out. If CSC wins it will be close I believe. I watched the UNC-Montana game last year and we aren't as big, fast or as deep as Montana but we have a game changer on offense that I didn't see them having. Plus that late in the season it didn't seem like UNC had very much left in the tank.

That may be the understatement of the year. Stick a knife in us, we were done (pun intended).

Chadrock is new to the board and was just trying to be polite.

The Chadron fans are known for their support of their team as well as respect for their opponents. I Believe they routinely travel several hundred strong even to long distance games. I bet they will have close to five hundred come to the game.

He was certainly being polite and I am glad he is here. I was just making fun of our mid to late season colapse.

No need to kick anybody while they are down. I grew up in CO and had the UNC back to back championship hat when I was in high school so I like the program. I bet we will have about 500 people travel to the game, alot of our players are from CO so their parents and friends should come. I would love to see 8-10K at the game it would make it a fun atmosphere.

The home opener lat year got 8k or so, but I think there was more excitement about the program, I would guess 6-7k for the opener.

We're trying to get back to the winning ways when Joe was here. If you ask anyone who has met our new coach, they'll tell you the same thing about him. He's very friendly to the casuall fan. Joe was very good about selling the program to recruits and potential boosters. I don't know how Scott does this, but I can tell you from the time I've spent around him that he has some of the personality traits of a Joe Glenn. We just need to surround him with the recourses to do it. We got away with it during our D2 days but we didn't need a huge budget. This is D1 and it's all about $$ I've come to realize. I don't know how SDSU is doing it because they're budget is similar to ours and they might be the acception. NDSU has been very succesful because they've given their coaches the $$ to do it right. UC Davis the same thing. Jay and Scott and Tad, etc. need to sell this program to every one in Colorado. Getting the Blue and Gold Club may help do that, but time will tell. The fact that we are talking about an RMAC team coming in and taking us to the wood shed is not UNC is about. It's time to get back on track. Personally I don't see it happening for a very long time, if ever. I don't think it's UNC's fault rather it's Greeley and northern Colorado in general that hasn't helped so far and I don't know if it ever will. I'm an optimistic person but I've lived in Greeley my whole life and know what kind of community it is. It's laid back, very complacent. It is was it is. Probably won't change for a very long.

Does CSU have a message board? their fans may get a kick out of this

CSC doesn't have a message board. But I like the helmet. I think the ones next year will be red with white wings.
