VA out 3 to 6 weeks with broken foot

GoldenEagle said:
On the coaches show tonight, coach Baldwin said VA was undergoing hyperbaric chamber therapy as part of his PT. PT has definitely evolved. Back in the day, we thought electrical stimulus and slathering DMSO on injuries was the cutting edge.

DMSO? Was that approved for human use? I remember when that stuff was all the fad around 1980. I even remember seeing it for sale at a gas station. They would sell it as a solvent to get around the F.D.A.

Now we know why Beau has been running the ball a lot. Holy crap JW is bad. The entire game reminded me of Towson. Sickening

Yah, he was really poor today. Cost them a touchdown just by mishandling the ball at the goal line.

That said, can anyone explain why Forte got pulled on the last drive? He was looking like a beast on the previous couple of drives and they yanked him. Then we fail on fourth down by throwing a nowhere ball with the game still in the balance.

I'd say don't get your hopes up that he'll be back before the Montana game, and even then, we don't know what game condition he's going to be in if he is able to play by then. It was great to see him on the sidelines out of the boot, but it seemed like he was still kinda hobbley walking around.

My money is still on VA suiting up for UND but not playing until the UM or possibly the PSU game.

I was wondering if anyone had heard anything promising about VA's return? Pure speculation on my part, but unless he is able to practice soon it doesn't seem like a return for the Montana game would be very likely?

Yes, Beau knows as well or better than any of us VA will need some time to get back into game shape, the rhythm of the game and timing with receivers. We are not going to see the same VA the first time he gets back on the field. I'm sure Beau is looking forward to having him ready for playoffs both physically and mentally.
Beau knows...

Speculations of a Bobcat fan: Baldwin is a heck of a coach and may be making calls that appear to be suspect by fans when in reality could be protecting players.

What I mean is what MSU went through last year. While coaching at time looked horrendous last year, MSU had something like 18 starters out or missing time last year due to major injuries. Decisions were made and some players sat at times and others played at diminished capacity.

I think it is a fact that that FCS coaches at higher levels deal with on a frequent basis.

Sidenote: NDSU must have one heck of a conditioning program. They seem to have less on the injury list than many other programs and those boys seem to roll the longer the game goes on..

Good luck getting your guys getting healed up. Frustrating for any fan. :thumb:

He had no issue throwing 6tds in a half coming off the bench...

VA with his kid at the women's basketball game:

Take note, no boot. No crutches.

Rjones61,
I am glad you saw VA at the Women Game last night, w/o boot or Crutches. Will attend practice and check him out today @ 4 p.m. Don't want our foes to know his status ;) ;) ;) ;) We haven't heard much about the "Gateway Project" kind of concerned. Will just have to wait and see. Vic Wallace

More great posts, good insight from the MSU fan regarding how managing 63 scholarship players differs from managing 85. Also that VA has an amazing history in the 2nd half of big games and of course Vic pointing out that VA may play, he may not but Griz nation should certainly prepare for the possibility. They should also prepare for a sea of Red and a group of fans who are respectful in our collective hatred of their program. Let's win with class a week from Saturday but first things first-beat North Dakota!

Interesting update from our MSU friend regarding the injury list for ND State. We are way ahead of ourselves worrying about them but obviously it is of great interest for our fans. Thanks for the post and good luck in most of your remaining games. Shouldn't be a surprise we would like an "L" next to your standings in the Big Sky race but that's out of our hands. We need to take care of our business.

I think this will be the loudest crowd ever Saturday with so much at stake. And there will be another epic tailgate, we get better at that every week too. Homecoming Weekend, go Eagles!

No surprise, but from Allen, no VA on Saturday.

JoinTheEAF,
VA was back in his boot at practice. Didn't talk to him very much, he is taking it as best he could. Jordan Tonani is having problems with concussion problems, so Todd Raynes will be inserted into the line. Coach said all of his injured Players are ready to go with the exception of some soreness here and there. Hope the rain holds up until after the game. I think we will be ready for this game. Everyone is ready to go, hope they are ready to play their : butts   : :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:   :nod. Go Eagles!!!!!. Vic Wallace

Does anyone else find it strange that he has been in and out of the boot so much? I hope he is following doctor's orders. I would rather see him later on in this playoffs when he has healed than have him come back too early and not be the same again.

That might be a big assumption at this point. Beating Montana without Adams might be a tall order if the past two games are any indication, which means that the UND and PSU games are absolute must-wins. I have this feeling like we might be 8-3 going into the PSU game and playing for our playoff lives. I also don't think we'll see him before then.

Yeah, I do. He's been in and out of it so much I can't keep track. I mean, he wasn't wearing it at the UNC game, and now he's back in it? I am also kind of getting the feeling that PSU might be the first time we see him on the field again.

I'm sure it is a part of his physical therapy. Take off the boot, stretch the foot out and get some exercise, put the boot back on. Whatever they have to do to speed the process up.

That makes sense. Hope you're right.
