'08-'09 RECRUITING CLASS

I'm guessing it's one of these 2 CSI guys:

45 Artsiom Parakhouski 6-11 260 C So Minsk, Belarus
32 Juan Pattillo 6-7 205 F So Las Vegas, Nev. (Canyon Springs)

6-11 guy would be awesome.

Parakhouski 14.0 PPG & 8 RPG
Patillo 17.4 PPG & 6.7 RPG

That's what we need in the post!

Keep your fingers crossed.

What about 6'9" Nate Bendall is he any good?

"Former Skyline High star Nate Bendall has also returned from a mission, but his status is also uncertain. Bendall signed with Utah State before leaving, but the Aggies haven't exactly welcomed him back with open arms. Bendall is attending Salt Lake Community College, but is not playing for the Bruins. He is considered a 4-2-4 by the NCAA, so he will have to graduate from SLCC before he moves on to any NCAA school other than Utah State."

Does anyone know who is getting the offers... I know that Weber has offered Brian Green a scholarship, but who else??

I thought Bendall sucked at USU but I didn't know at the time he was a freshman. I was a Billings type (his senior yr that is).

WSU assistant Coach Jeff Linder has left to accept an assistant coaches job at a smaller University in Florida. Rumor has it that this move to a smaller college will double his salary.

Well that is sad on our part when he was making $55,000 over this past season. All the WSU coaches just got raises according to Utahsright.

The Coach is making $145,874....pretty cool that WSU is trying to take care of the coaches. Before this season ended he was making $120,000.

Cravens final salary was $105,000.

*WSU bball coaches*
2007-08 Season Salaries:
$120,000
$55,000
$43,000
$28,000

2008-09 Salaries:
$145,874
$61,577
$51,386
$34,860

Makes ya wonder if they just got a big raise or maybe Utahsright was just updated and maybe those raises were after they won it all last year? Who knows...

McBride was making $99,000 and now he's up to $113,000 I wonder how much it will change if they could finish next season between 1st-3rd.

CT got a $10,000 raise...was that for beating BYU? lol She is making $102,000

Ok maybe this site isn't trustworthy...I've noticed some people salaries have decreased. One went from making $55,000 a year to $11,000 a year.

Over the weekend Julian Jones and NicK Hansen both made official visits to Weber State. Two more potential Wildcats will be visiting Weber next weekend, I'm not sure who they are, but I believe they will be Bill Squire and Johnathan Hall. Cory Copperwood hasn't signed with anyone yet. Anyway, both Nick and Julian really liked Weber. Julian was overwhelmed by the size of the Dee and how nice our facilities are. However, what really sells a player is the Coaching staff and the potential for success at a particular school. With that being said...I'm sure both are coming.

Agreed... Papa doesn't seem really that impressive. This weekend Jonathan Hall is coming to Weber State for his visit. He has already gone to Indiana State and the signing period starts next week so this could be a good sign for Wildcat fans.

Nick Hansen has verbaled... This is purely my theory... I'm thinking that Weber will get Jonathan Hall and Julian Jones. Jones will have 3 years of eligibility.

tadhadfoursteals;
Any news on some recruits? Who is coming, and who is leaving the team? I heard JP, might not be back next year.... You seem to know what is going on with the team.

Marcus Carson was in town this weekend on a recruiting visit, don't look for Jermane Nance or JP to be back.

AJ, I'm pretty sure you are right on about those two. It's kinda sad. JP has a great opportunity, and I wish him the best, if he decides to leave. Jemaine would have gotten more minutes this next season, but who knows. Nothing is for sure.
Another player has committed to Weber... However, i"m not sure who it is, since Marcus was in town this weekend it might be him. I did find out that Jonathan Hall is coming to Weber next weekend. He would be a big-time recruit. Thankfully, the other school looking at him has already signed players who play his position. No matter he can play the 2, 3, or 4. Pretty amazing kid!! Also, coach did talk about Lillard being a SG, but a player who can play the PG position if needed. No matter two have committed, with one to two spots left.
Coach did talk about next season's schedule. Nobody is willing to come to Ogden to play Weber, so that means Weber will most likely have a lot of road games and tourny's next preseason. BYU is for sure coming. However, SUU wont play us. Seems like Reid is a little bitter that his alma matter wouldn't hire him.

Marcus Carson played his Freshman season at SUU. He left when Evans was fired. He spent the last season at some JC in Texas (it's somewhere on this forum, same school as Eric Tramail). Anyway, he played AAU ball with Lillard and is from Oakland Cali. He would be a decent pickup. Nothing like Jonathan Hall... Hall is going to be one of the best JC Transfers to Weber, since Harold and Eddie.

The coaches luncheon was pretty cool.

It sucks we can't play UVSC and SUU every year!

So it sounds like in a week or 2 we'll have more info about recruiting then?

I think Rahe was being modest about our team next year...I think we will contend for a title every year as long as Rahe is our coach. Even if we have a young team!

Next year's line up likely:

1-Sr
2-Fr
3-Sr
4-Jr
5-Soph or Jr

So our bench will be VERY young.
