TThey had a recruiting weekend last weekend and are having another one this weekend where they are bringing in jcs and guys from other colleges...their high school guys they are talking to won't come to greeley until jan.

They also had high schoolers in during home game weekends down the stretch. Once teams were eliminated in playoffs, the number of those players in attendance increased.

I'm sure the Tribune will have in depth coverage on this right?

Oh wait no, they now cover CSU more than UNC.

Blofeld, you mean you haven't noticed that west of Promontory the newspaper is now known as the Northern Colorado Tribune?

The Coloradoan just started a newspaper in Loveland; the Trib is teamed up with one of the freebies in FC for Ft. Collins Now; they both have papers in Windsor...Loveland's owners are the same folks who own Longmont, and just opened a new printing facility...

Who falls out? Who surrenders when the $$$ aren't there? It's fun to watch from a broadcaster's perspective

2 star defensive end Nick Hernon is coming to UNC. He played at DC with Muns and Mcgraw. He was also being recruited by Montana and Air Force. He was offered by both schools. This is a nice pick up for us because we're so short on defensive linemen. Nice job staff!

Well he must be okay "IF he has offers from Montana and AFA. But I need to know for certain he was offered by those two before I get too excited..............

Rivals has a subscription rate and I do subscribe. Believe me, he was offered at both AF and Montana. I remember watching the state championships on tv and they mentioned he was heading to Montana. Must of changed his mind. On rivals he said he was impressed with coach Dunaway and liked our facilities. Most of all he wants to stay home and play.

This was in the Denver Post over the weekend too... or maybe the Rocky Mountain News... I can't remember which but they're the same anyway. But they also mentioned Montana and Air Force.

That's two years in a row we have gotten a 2 star athlete. Nigel Nelson last year and now Hernon. I know I know I'll be condemned to hell by some for saying this but... nice job Downing.

It's also good to see us getting Douglas County kids here. Downing and Jeff Ketron must have a good rapport.

Ketron Played for Downing at Wyoming. We more than Douglas County kids to compete at this level. We need all the D-I players not signing with in-state FBS schools. No "tweeners"

I was struck when checking the top players breakout in USA Today recently that Colorado had only ONE player make the list. Hell, even Kansas got two in...It doesn't tell you what a kid will do in the future, but I thought it was rather telling as to why so much out-of-state recruiting occurs at CU and CSU.

Rangeview DL Marcus Lucas has committed to the Bears. If you remember he made news because he was on the bad end of a cheap shot against Highlands Ranch and a horrible injury. I don't know much about him but his brother plays for the Buffs. He'll redshirt which will help his recovery and then we all know he will be an impact player for us! Here's a recent story about Marcus and his recovery.

Matt Bacca, QB from Chino Hills California , 6foot 192lbs has committed to UNC. He's a 2star qb according to Scout.com

Also, VJ Holmes a TE/DE from Dourghty High School has also committed. He's also a 2 star player from scout.com

Looks like Montana State aced us out on this one.

This is tough to hear (though not surprising):

“They (Montana State) had been after me hard since November,” Kelly said. “I just really like the coaches and the players. It’s was just better fit. They just did things better.”

I think this kid knows what we all know. Something aint right within our program. Lets hope other recruits dont have the same views as this kid.
