we're looking at a 5th or 6th place finish in the Sky this year. I did not expect us to be this bad this year.

This is the first game with a new coaching staff and we lost a ton of talent of last year's team. Surprised but not shocked. I think we'll regroup and be fine. All the pieces are there.

TT has an above average FBS program and by insulting people you just look bitter. Cut your losses, move on, and expect a better game against NDSU. People expected TT's offense to drop off this year with the loss of the QB, but it doesn't appear to have dropped off much. With a better D they could realistically win 8-10 games. Trashing them just makes EWU look that much worse.

Times like these are when the infighting begins and we look like eGriz. We are not used to losing, but we do all have opinions on why or how we were shut out. Football can be analyzed a million ways. So long as we understand that these guys are still young college kids, and we are respectful of that, we can really analyze it any way that we individually see fit dudes. This may just be a down year... Every program has a down year. Our last was 2011, but we have been given the gift of six excellent years since and a win over two PAC12 teams and plenty of BSC titles. It may simply be another 2011 year... Or not, we will see. Regardless, take it as it is and know that the EWU fanbase has grown immensely this last decade. It will take longer than one year to lose all of those fans... But #FTG
This is the worst EWU performance since that game with Montana two years ago. We have completely quit. I'm shocked by our lack of guts in this game. Our defense has totally checked out. They played with intensity early, but have had more busted coverages and blown tackles to even count at this point.

At this point, you might throw the freshman receivers out there. They can't be worse than the guys playing so far. Have we caught a single pass in traffic or broken a single tackle? I didn't expect the drop-off in talent to be this much at receiver this season.

This could be a worst case scenario many have alluded to. Tough sched to open the year, a confidence crushing loss to start the season, and losing some players to injury. Too many players going down. None seem too serious as of yet (though I don't know for sure as I don't have sound where I am). Beau would be able to get the team past this mentally. Hope Best has those same skills. This team needs to built back up before next Saturday.

Like I said, could be that y'all just need time to gel as well. I know next to nothing about your team but sounds like you had a lot of new pieces. Never easy. I certainly didn't expect this score. I had Tech winning by about 20 in a solidly competitive game.JasonEWU said:

This game clearly got away from us early so I'll reserve judgement for a week or 2. Will these guys pick themselves up and dust themselves and get after if against NDSU, or will they carry this game with them the rest of the season? Time will tell, but I'm not prepared to write these guys off. New coaching staff with a lot of youth all over the field.
