UNC vs. Chadron State

28-0

I wouldn't be surprised if the entire crowd left at the half. It would be nice to see the Bears rally here.

Yeah and the kicker is they won't be coming back again... and you can't blame them. It's like going to see one of those Ernest movies... you leave after 30 minutes and then never go see any of the sequels.

Maddening.

Well done to Chadron State. I remember when we were at the top of the D-II world feeling like we could beat some I-AA teams. Chadron is in that world now and they have earned it.

This is a new low for the program. There is no silver lining to this cloud. Getting shutout by a RMAC team at home. Things are much worse than I thought....

I am going to have a hard time spending my money on another game this year. I don't know what to say but this is a new low. We're pathetic. Getting shut out by an RMAC team will not do.

On a positive note...anyone who went to this game should realize CSC would beat a lot of FCS teams. They did the same thing to MSU last year, although they didn't get shut out. Woodhead is the type of player that controls the game and he really took it to us.

We should have a easier game against SD. The players need to look at themselves and not give up on the season. Have some pride and come out pissed off. Our offensive struggles are evident but hopefully they'll come together soon. Our running game is horrible.

I am going out on a limb and say we're going to beat SD.

Winning!?! Dont talk about...winning!?! I just hope we can score a point!

Seriously though, Downing and Hinrichs need to go...NOW.

Just got back from the game, my thoughts.

I feel bad for UNC, a great program 10 years ago.
Downing sucks.
JJJJ and Portland State College fan showed they know nothing of Chadron State or UNC football, but were entertaining!!
Danny Woodhead is good-again
CSC defense is really good.
UNC offense is really bad.
Hopefully you guys can get lucky and get a win or two this year.
The better team won.

I think it might be time to start over. Seriously, they couldn't be worse if they did. An 0-12 season should not only get the entire coaching staff run out of town but the AD too. There is just a total defeatist attitude there and it's like cancer, you have to take it all out to fully recover...

One positive note for UNC...you played CSC's 2nd and 3rd team guys to 3-0 in the second half. Two weeks in a row you've done that now. Good job! 8)

Send all crow to Downing as well...I'll bet he regrets it now that Woodhead isn't at NU.

Best of luck to CSC the rest of the season and I think they have the talent to win the national championship.

As for PSUfan, he should have his on crap to worry about. They're 0-2 as well and lost to UC- DAVIS who also lost to D2 Western Washington.

I'll be interested in seeing how our players respond to this. Remember South Dakota State lost to a D3 team early on and reeled off something like 6 straight wins. If we come back from this road trip 2/2 I'll be happy.

We had a big lead at half, then the fumbles came. Its a very sad loss, worse then UNC losing to Chadron State. Glanville had better pick it up fast.

I forgot the Glanville was your coach. Hope he does better as a head coach than he does as a NASCAR Craftsmen Truck driver.

Execution, Intensity, Discipline, Confidence, Unity, Tenacity. These are the ingredients of success and championships. Regardless of physical or financial advantage, and regardless of football classification.

Chadron State College possesses these ingredients, UNC does not. The Eagles demonstrated everything we want in our program, and we should thank and congratulate them for that outstanding demonstration.

When you are at rock bottom, there is likely only one direction you can go from there, yesterday I witnessed a once proud program at rock bottom, from the goose stepping, grandstanding entrance to the drooping of the shoulders after the first score to the walking off the field with heads held in shame.

First off to Maizedr and the rest of the CSC fans. You were right and I was wrong. CSC manhandled the Bears on Saturday.

Here are some random thoughts.

1. This team is a joke. This is the lowest point in UNC football history.
2. I left at halftime and wish I had not been at the game at all, maybe then I could somehow hold out some false hope of suceess this year.
3. Great showing by the fans and especially the students - their section was packed and they were overflowing in the endzones. Too bad the team didn't bother to show up.
4. In an alarming trend that does not seem to reverse itself, this team was once again outcoached in every possible way (hey Deti you might want to consider that they can throw the ball to Woodhead also and try to gameplan for that).
5. I take back everything I said about liking the Darnell hire. I cannot believe it is possible, but our offense is actually worse than it was last year. The fact that we could not run the ball is sickening. If we can't run against a small CSC team, we are in for a world of hurt in th BSC.
6. This team is soft. They need to be in full pads 6 days a week going live all of the time. They also need to start and end every practice with Bear drill. They are not physical and not tough, so this needs to be developed in the team. Game "walk throughs" for the fans don't do this.
7. Downing and Hinrichs need to go now.

I could go on for pages, but need to get some work done today. This is the worst I've ever felt about the Bears.

I wasn't able to attend the game due to work. I log on to the uncbears.com around 6 to see the game recap. Not one up yet. I check back at 8, still no story. I check back at 11 and finally there is a story. The game sounded awful and the story was even worse. The Media Relations Department SUCKS. god what the hell has happened in there. Even the INTERN last year had more publicity then this shit. In the game stories last year i could find out if the game was on TV, the radio stations and what day the coaches show is. Not this year. Not with this SID. How about proof reading the story? a MONKEY could write a better story then this SID. who is the Northern Colorado football team? Isn't this the University of Northern Colorado? "The Bears gave up 14 point in each of the first two quarters and trailed at the half 28-0." A little AP style would be nice too. but i guess i'm asking for too much as an alumni of this institution to be able to read about the games that i can't attend
