I'm no longer emotionally invested but it is interesting news. I'm excited for this to be over with and to start talking about the incoming class, as well as the other 60 or so incredibly talented athletes who want to be and are part of this amazing team.

Go Eags!

The morning news will be the perfect medicine for us all!

I know this is my first post on this board, but I've been a follower of the board for a looong time now and I promise I'm not a troll. But who the F?&! Is this @503lionsfan? The only people he follows on twitter is Gilbert gottfried, some lame ass d list celebs, and a few pro's.

Who is this guy and where is he getting his info?

I don't think I could summarize my own thoughts any better than this. As fans, there's always going to be ups and downs. I refuse to even acknowledge any potential negativity that might come from this whole situation. There's far too many good things going on in the football program to let something like this overshadow all of that. The PROGRAM is what's important, not any single player. Turn the page - time for the next chapter.

Who knows if it's legit, but he states he heard from one of VA's teammates regarding the UW stuff. It's Twitter, so obviously take it with a big grain of salt, but he seems to think boosters may be trying to influence VA to the other side of the mountains.

So as an EWU student i was just on campus coming to do some homework in the Computer Engineering Building and saw VA doing his mandatory 'study time' or what ever athletes have to do, talked to him for a brief 2 minutes but what he told me was the following...

Only University of Oregon, University of Maryland, and UCLA, have contacted him about playing football the next year. (And yes i asked specifically about a UW offer.)

What VA said to me was he is only thinking about EWU and UO.

I told him he's a great guy, I want him to stay at EWU, but would support him no matter where he went.

He seemed very sincere and i believe what he said, and with that, that dip s*** talking about him getting offers from UW is just trying to start some BS rumors.

Anyways he is still as genuine as before, and does seem to act like he is in a tough position. I hope he stays.

Figured i'd share what i found out to you guys.

Who would they go after at this point?
I would say maybe a drop down...but I would stick with what I have at this point and reward someone else who is on the team with a larger scholarship.

Man, you guys are right. There's a huge rift between Adams and the coaching staff.

That sure didn't feel like a rift to me.

Baldwin is such a cool cucumber!
Well said and I am impressed by the player coaching relationship they have. Very apparent that he is transparent to the players.

Jordan West was given a full scholarship yesterday.

Wait, how was he not already on full scholarship?

It appears Vernon has the biggest potential downside in this deal. If it does not work out for any number of possible reasons he is out a year of playing and possibly a shot at the next level.
Oregons downside is one year of scholarship expense, thats it. Of course they will tell him anything he wants to hear.

With all the publicity VA has gotten on his Oregon offer for his 5th year of eligibility, he's gotten all the NFL scouts, GMs and coaches attention. For this reason, he will be in the scouting circle of all of them for his last season at EWU! No need to transfer now, if they didn't know who he was this last 2014 season, they definitely know who he is now. Stay at Eastern, win a NC and break ALL the records, and get the Payton Award.
Analogy: Marshawn Lynch is now more famous than ever for saying nothing!
VA is now more recognized than ever after being offered by Oregon!

Damn, and I forgot to post, Go into OU and beat them in their house and you'll have all the national recognition you'll need VA. Stay at EWU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good point Talon!

The people that are saying this is a no-brainer simply don't understand everything involved with the situation. Yes, I would like to see him stay but outside of that fact there is way more risk than reward in this for Vernon. Leaving a proven situation for the unknown just doesn't make sense. People already know who he is and what he can do. He doesn't need to risk his entire Senior just for the possibility of turning a few more heads.
