If alumni can get the word out, there could be a great contingent of Weber State fans at the game. But, that would take organization, which isn't one of the strongest attributes of our alumni organization. From what I am aware of, there is a Weber State Alumni Organization in the DC area, which has the potential to being quite big. There are a lot of Weber State folks in Northern Virginia and shockingly enough throughout the middle states area of our country.

Personally, I have told all of my friends and family living out there to attend the game. I have two really close friends one who went to Utah and the other Utah State, who are both, with family and some friends, planning on attending and cheering for the Cats. My buddy who went to Utah is involved in the Ute Alumni group and said he would tell them. He said anyone from Utah would probably be interested to support. I told another buddy (a Marine) to take a platoon of Marines to the game to cheer for the Cats. I know there are at least 25 interns who are working in the DC area that are students. The university really should get them tickets and organize rides for them. They all live together in Crystal City. Hell, why stop there, all state representatives, with their staffs, should be there even if we like them or not. They are our reps and should be supporting the team from their state. Another close friend who works for Hatch said that the Senator is aware and interested (he could be the Cats secret weapon. He looks like a ghost from Scooby Doo and could just stand looking at the JMU offense. Just the thought freaks me out.).

It could happen. I factored most of those into my 200 or so possible fans. But short notice, Friday game, lack of any real organization on Weber's part.... meh. I seriously considered the trip, but hard to take 2 days off work on that short of notice. Nevermind the cost. I hope I am wrong and we send 1000 people, but I doubt it.

Jerry Bovee and the AD at James Madison need to have a meeting prior to the game that goes a little something like this...

Bourne walks into his office and the lights turn off.

Bovee (from the shadows) - "Mr. Bourne. You have a great team here in Virginia, Probably the Best. One that many other FCS teams would be very interested in playing against."

Bourne - "Who are you? Step into the light."

Bovee (steps into light) - "I am Jerry Bovee, the Athletic Director at Weber State University.

Bourne - "What brings you to my office Mr. Bovee?"

Bovee- "I'm here to talk to you about the Home & Home initiative."

Duh Duh DUN!

To me the most important position on the field is the OL. I've been impressed with Latu and Cannon the last two games and feel confident if Downs and Bruce aren't ready to go, that these two will do just fine. However, we need our starters if nothing more, to have additional depth available. I'm fully confident in our defenses abilities and also our special teams. This is shaping up to being a great game. Yes, it really does seem like the planets will need to align for Weber to win, but strange things happen all the time. Like Lloyd Christmas says, "So, you're saying I've got a chance" gotta like the odds of being the underdog and having absolutely nothing to play for except advancing.

How is your O-Line depth? One of our biggest strengths is our D-Line depth, and we're able to rotate about 6-8 guys in and out. It really helps our pass rush/rush D at the end of games.

Howdy there DirtyDukes!

Our depth is actually pretty strong and we have a very good OL Coach. However, when flying across the country I'm pretty sure that only 10 OL are making the trip; maybe 12.

I'll take a home and home! A LOT of JMU fans are tired of playing cupcakes for our OOC schedule.

Count me in too. Seeing the sweeping mountain views from your stadium, I think that alone would be worth the trip.

200 wouldn’t be a bad contingent of Weber fans Friday night, all things considered. Just do better than Sam Houston who brought 25 people in orange hats last year!

Between the mountains surrounding the stadium and the views of the sunsets over the great salt lake, I don't think there's better views in all of college football.

...and sometimes, when Weber is still playing in late November, the sunsets not over the lake are still really nice.

I'd like to say you James Madison fans are a group of classy guys, it's not often we get a large number of opposing teams fans that come on here and have a great conversation with.

Regardless of what happens tomorrow you have this Wildcat fan's respect.

Same can be said for you guys. It's not very common for me to visit an opposing fan's board because most of them like to hurl insults and really would rather be a jerk than actually talk about the game.
We're no angels, that's for sure, but we tend to give respect to those that deserve it. In my opinion, you guys most definitely deserve it.
Although I hope this game goes in the Dukes favor, I do wish you guys a lot of success in the future. It seems like you've got a great coach running things, so hopefully you can keep him around for a while.

Side note: There's a banner ad from a clothing store selling t-shirts with dogs on them. There's nowhere in my browser history where I've ever looked for a shirt like that, so I have to believe some of you are to blame and hopping on the Dukes bandwagon and admitting to dog superiority haha.

Very true. The sunset at the W Illinois game was amazing.

Definitely a nice place to visit. One of my personal favorites.

JMU fans, you are always welcome!! At times we can be somewhat cantankerous souls, but for the most part Weber fans are fairly down to earth and just enjoy a good conversation. What amazes me the most about JMU is the team discipline. It is remarkable. I have watched some film on JMU and I'm just amazed by the play on both sides of the ball. Very well coached ball club.

I know that's one of things as a fan we pride most for our team. This is extremely new for us, and definitely wasn't the case with our previous coaching staff. They were very undisciplined, made dumb mistakes and unnecessary penalties. The way he turned our program around is still unbelievable to me. We expected it to take a few years. There's no way in hell any of us thought in year one we would go far in the playoffs, let alone win a National Championship. The scary part is that this staff is only in year two. He changed the mindset of this football team so incredibly fast and we are unbelievably grateful for Coach Houston and really hope he'll stay past this year (unfortunately with great success comes a lot of teams in FBS wanting to take him from us).
I've never been a fan of any team where I wasn't yelling at the coaching staff or questioning calls that were made. This staff has completely shut me up. I have 100% faith in our staff that they'll have the players ready, they did their research, and will coach the game the best they can to get a win.
If you beat us, you will have most definitely deserved it and I will most definitely be back to congratulate you.

Sounds like you guys got one hell of a catch. :thumb:

JMU lost a key returner Miller last game, was special teams player of year in CAA. Unsure if plays this week but seems very frustrated on sidelines last game.

I have seen Weber fans talk about the offense line potentially a concern with injuries, did you also lose a DB last week or anyone else? Was mentioned at AGS.

Good luck this week should be a great game!

Ugh...hate seeing a player get injured; especially at this time in the season. That is too bad for Miller, I hope he recovers quickly and that it doesn't affect him long term. As for our DB, #10 Benjamin, I think he should be ready to go. Only guy I have heard who is out, is our three year starter Baron Bruce. However, he has been out the last two games and his back up Mo Cannon has been playing really well. 6-6 320 starting OT Tyler Downs has been out the past two games also, but heard he should be back. My biggest concern was our FB Brady May, but heard he will be ready to go.
