JMU lost a key returner Miller last game, was special teams player of year in CAA. Unsure if plays this week but seems very frustrated on sidelines last game.

I have seen Weber fans talk about the offense line potentially a concern with injuries, did you also lose a DB last week or anyone else? Was mentioned at AGS.

Good luck this week should be a great game!

Ugh...hate seeing a player get injured; especially at this time in the season. That is too bad for Miller, I hope he recovers quickly and that it doesn't affect him long term. As for our DB, #10 Benjamin, I think he should be ready to go. Only guy I have heard who is out, is our three year starter Baron Bruce. However, he has been out the last two games and his back up Mo Cannon has been playing really well. 6-6 320 starting OT Tyler Downs has been out the past two games also, but heard he should be back. My biggest concern was our FB Brady May, but heard he will be ready to go.

All things considered for this time of year, we have very few injuries which impact this game.

JMU Fan, Hello Weber St fans.... I think we are in for a special game. Both teams are very similar in playing style. I watched the W Ill game, what an awesome setting for your stadium. I like your coach. He seems like a players coach. Safe travels to your team and fans. I am also Purple Reign on our site. Good Luck and enjoy the game! I hope we are throwing lots of streamers! Go Dukes!!!

I'm sure hoping for a good game and not a spanking at the hands of JMU. Looking through a bunch of stats doesn't paint the greatest of pictures in favor of Weber. The simple little game predictor I've been playing with for the playoffs doesn't much like Weber either:
+02.5 vs Western Illinois
+07.1 at Southern Utah
-18.4 at James Madison :yikes:

I'm worried Weber won't be able to move the ball but I'm also worried JMU might find success running the ends and passing underneath (8-13 yard throws). This, just based on games I remember the ends not contained too well and multiple routes (?with speed) spreading the typical man coverage.

I was looking for something to help make me feel more confident in a close, hard-nosed game and all I could really find to give that hope is Sagarin's ratings against each schedule (see image).
JMU Rank: 26 :yikes:
JMU Opponent's Average Rank: 162.3
WSU Rank: 81
WSU Opponent's Average Rank: 127.7

Weber's highest ranked opponent so far is Cal at 60 and WIU right behind at 64. We know how close Weber came to knocking of Cal and was able to get by the road warriors of Western Illinois. JMU's highest ranked opponent is at home vs Richmond, followed by Stoney Brook also at home. An interesting observation-- especially since western teams don't get much credit for playing SOS-- is that Weber has played 6 opponents with a higher ranking than Richmond  .

I'm certainly not reading more into this than it being a simple sliver of hope that Weber will indeed be the toughest team that JMU will have faced and hopefully that their 12-0 record was against a weaker schedule and with 7 home games vs Weber's 7 on the road. Gotta look for something to feel good about when they're going up against such a dominate team and undefeated, defending champion. GO WEBER!

His mother is in our JMU Nation FB page and she reported yesterday that John will not play this week. No broken bones but a pretty seriously sprained ankle. Doubt we see him this week or next (God willing a W tomorrow), but should we make it to Frisco, he could still be in play for a return there (special teams pun intended).

Give em hell tomorrow, Weber State.

I swore off football for the rest of the season after NAU laid a steaming turd on the Skydome floor in the first round of the playoffs but I'll throw my support in for the cause.

Have you seen our basketball team? There's nothing Godly about that bunch?

I don’t think Treshawn Garrett is playing tonight.

Injury? His carries have been spotty at best. We seem to ride whoever is hot at RB, so it is not that concerning. Though I do prefer Garret over Smith for most roles.

I believe so. He ran once last week and didn’t return. I thought it was odd David Jones didn’t get any carries. I think Kevin Smith took every rep at RB after Garrett left.

I guess when you're at game 14 of the season you're going to have some injuries. Weber has been pretty fortunate this season with injuries, and they have good depth at almost every position which has helped. I thought Kevin Smith played great at SUU. He certainly likes the spin move, looks like a top spinning down the field. Downs was dressed at SUU and I would assume he'll be ready this game, but if not, the backups have been playing well in his and Bruce's spots.

Vegas has JMU at -16.5. That's a little larger of a spread than I was expecting. The site I use says it opened at -11.5, which is more of what I was thinking, and means heavy money is being put on JMU. 5 pts is a huge swing in terms of a spread. O/U is 39.5, which is higher than I was expecting, and opened at 42. Money being put on the Under. Weber is 3-0 ATS this season, and all three games have gone under. JMU is 1-1 ATS (were -19.5 vs Stony Brook last week and won by 19) and both games have gone under. So all 5 games with a Vegas line between these two teams have gone under. If you're going to Nevada, put some cash on Weber to beat the spread and the under. :kisswink:

Any word on what the uniform scheme tonight will be?

white/white/purple?

Weber has played their best football while wearing Purple helmets and purple pants. So hopefully that is the scheme they are running with.

I'd take the purple / white / white look but by no means should this team wear those black helmets. If I see those black helmets someone is going to the pit of misery.

If by some small chance it is the flying W. I am guaranteeing a win!

I'm hoping for the purple/white/purple look, and yes, agreed, it the Flying W makes an appearance it would be absolutely awesome. Don't we have black pants too? Maybe a purple/white/black? I could be high...but I swore we had black pants somewhere also.

Whoever gets the carries, it could be Clay Moss, I just hope our FB is ready to go. Brady May has been huge all season for the Cats. Did hear that Bruce is probably done for the season today. Just want the kid to get healed now. As for Downs, he traveled with the team and will be dressed. Whether or not he starts is anther matter. Heard that the secondary will be just fine tonight.
